The Workforce Heroes program travels across the country highlighting the strong connection between military service and careers in the trucking industry. Our nation’s veterans bring qualities that translate seamlessly into professional driving, including discipline, reliability, leadership, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence.

Through outreach and education, we showcase the many opportunities available within the trucking industry while celebrating the men and women who have served our nation. This week, we are proud to support Our Roads, Our Safety Week and the shared goal of creating safer roadways for all travelers.

May is National Military Appreciation Month, and we want to take a moment to recognize four of our drivers who proudly served our country before transitioning into the trucking industry.

Last week, our Professional Drivers William West and David Young visited Hart County High School in Hartwell, Georgia for a Safety Summit in partnership with the Lutzie 43 Foundation.

This marked the final stop in a four-part Safety Summit series where our drivers connected with more than 500 students, sharing important tips on how to safely drive around large vehicles and highlighting the many opportunities within the trucking industry.

Earlier this month, professional drivers Mitch and Willie attended a Safety Summit in partnership with the Lutzie 43 Foundation, where they spoke with high school students about their rewarding careers and the importance of safety on our roadways.
