Focus.

Cutting things from your to-do list is the most powerful thing you can do for your software development process.

We don't say this because we hate grand ideas or massive product visions, we say this because we've seen grand ideas and massive product visions fail time and time again because they lacked focus.

A product is not all things for all people. It is one or two things for a very specific set of people.

The more you can focus, not only on your target market and the problem you're solving but on the one thing you can create to solve that problem, the faster you'll find solutions and direction for moving forward.

Focus isn't about losing or cutting things from your to-do list. Focus is about gaining progress through hyper-vigilant around your most important goals.

Can we pre-register for 2023 yet?

Marc Andreessen of Andreessen Horowitz once wrote, “I am firmly convinced that invention is something that happens over long periods of time, by lots of very smart people, playing each others’ ideas against each other. I think there are very few eureka moments, very few genuinely new ideas.”

So rather than seeing what someone has made and wishing it was yours, take that inspiration and build something great with it.

A lot of first-time, non-technical founders think about tech as a fixed cost.

But there is a better way.

Giving yourself a monthly budget for tech or planning towards your next big milestone are great ways to consider the ongoing investment of developing your tech product.
