This is in response to what is going on in Mexico. We are here now. Everything is fine here at the moment but I am following it closely.

This is from the Quintana Roo government…

A statement issued by the Governor of the State of Quintana Roo Mara Lezama

Just in from the governor

UPDATE QUINTANA ROO

More than 10,000 federal, state, and municipal personnel have been deployed across Quintana Roo.

Governor Mara Lezama confirmed the situation is under control and authorities are working in full coordination with the Army, National Guard, Navy, and federal and state agencies.

✈️ Airports and Tourism Operating Normally
• All four international airports are operating as usual.
• No flights have been canceled.
• Any delays are due to weather in the United States — not security issues.
• ADO bus terminals and the Maya Train continue normal operations.

🎓 Schools Remain Open

Educational activities continue as usual at all levels — public and private institutions.

⚠️ False Information Circulating on Social Media

The Governor categorically denied rumors about:
• Closure of the Cancun Hotel Zone
• Fires in hospitals, schools, banks, or convenience stores
• A burned airplane (confirmed to be AI-generated)

🔎 Confirmed Incidents

Authorities confirmed:
• 3 vehicles burned on the highway to Cancun
• 7 in Playa del Carmen
• 5 in Tulum
• 1 business in Tulum
• Damage to an Oxxo in Cozumel

Nine alleged perpetrators have been arrested.
No civilian injuries have been reported.

✅ Official Recommendation

Residents and visitors are urged to:
• Stay calm
• Follow official government channels
• Avoid spreading unverified information

*More than 10,000 personnel reinforce security in Quintana Roo and ensure the continuity of economic and tourism activities: Mara Lezama*

-Governor Mara Lezama highlights the ongoing coordination with the Army, National Guard, and prosecutors to preserve public order.

-She asks citizens to stay informed through official channels and avoid spreading fake news.

*-Mara Lezama clarified that educational activities continue as usual.*

Cancun - Following the violent events across the country stemming from a federal operation in Tapalpa, Jalisco, Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa reported that a joint operation with more than 10,000 federal, state, and municipal forces has been deployed in the state, and assured that the situation remains under control.

Mara Lezama stated that, given the circulation of false information on social media, they are maintaining constant coordination with the Army, National Guard, Navy, Attorney General's Office, State Attorney General's Office, Judiciary, National Migration Institute, Secretariat of Citizen Security, and regional working groups with municipal presidents.

She emphasized that the state's four international airports are operating normally and that no flights have been canceled; the delays experienced are due to weather conditions in the United States and not to security issues. Likewise, the ADO bus terminals and the Maya Train are operating as usual.

Regarding recommendations from the U.S. Consulate, they clarified that these are preventative measures for U.S. citizens, such as avoiding unnecessary travel and staying informed through official channels.

Mara Lezama reported that school activities are proceeding normally in basic, upper secondary, and higher education, in both public and private institutions.

The head of the Executive Branch categorically denied reports circulating on social media regarding the alleged closure of the Cancun hotel zone, fires in hospitals, schools, banks, and convenience stores, as well as the supposed burning of an airplane, an image which, he asserted, was generated with artificial intelligence.

He confirmed, separately, the burning of three vehicles on the highway to Cancun, seven in Playa del Carmen, five in Tulum, and a business set on fire in Tulum, in addition to damage to an Oxxo convenience store in Cozumel. As a result of joint operations, nine alleged perpetrators have been arrested.

The Governor emphasized that no civilian injuries have been reported and urged citizens not to spread false information that generates uncertainty or panic, and to remain attentive to official communication channels.

Bruges, known as the "Venice of the North," is a captivating city that feels like a step into a fairy tale. Few places in the world compare to its unique charm. With its cobblestone streets, picturesque bridges, intricate lacework, delicious chocolates and waffles, ancient churches, stunning canals, and graceful swans, Bruges offers an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend visiting this beautiful city; photos simply don't do it justice.
