Isolation can impact health just as much as physical barriers.
🧑🤝🧑Connection matters.
🗨️Conversation matters.
🤝Feeling included matters.
WILS believes emotional wellness and community connection are important parts of independent living too. https://www.findhelp.org/

💪🌳 When United Way of Pettis County put out the call for volunteers during their Day of Action on June 13, the WILS Transportation Team didn't hesitate.
Their answer? "Yes, we can!"
Our team rolled up their sleeves, brought the muscle, and tackled the task head-on—loading and unloading five truckloads of tree limbs to help make a difference in the community.
We're proud of these team members for not only working hard but also bringing positive attitudes and a willingness to serve. Community impact happens when people step up, and this crew did exactly that.
Thank you to United Way of Pettis County for organizing another great Day of Action and to our WILS Transportation Team for representing WILS so well!

No organization changes communities alone. Real impact happens when nonprofits, healthcare providers, volunteers, businesses, and neighbors work together.
Partnerships help communities become stronger, more connected, and more accessible for everyone. Every hour of every day, residents of the 23 counties surrounding Kansas City call United Way 211 or look to 211KC.org in search of essential human services. Home is more than a place.
It’s familiarity.
Comfort.

Independence.
WILS helps older adults and individuals with disabilities remain safely connected to their homes and communities whenever possible. Because independence often starts at home.
