🔥🥵☀️ Heat wave update!
We had originally planned to staff the plant sale today in the greenhouse but due to the extremely high temperatures coming today, we have decided that’s not safe for our staff or visitors. Instead, we’ve put a wide selection of plants next to the farm stand for self serve sales. And even better, we are running a special! All plants for $3.50 or fill a whole flat for $50.
Venmo cash or check are the best way to pay. If you are wondering if a specific plant variety is out next to the stand, just ask! We will also have plants for sale Sunday and all next week
The farm stand fridge is also loaded to the brim as we are harvesting some stunning and delicious veggies out of the fields and tunnels right now. The first cucumbers and zucchini make their appearance this weekend. We will be sure to keep salad mix and arugula well stocked because this heat wave weekend is definitely giving salad vibes
Enjoy some plants, enjoy some veggies, enjoy some beach time this weekend. We hope to see you at the farm.

☀️It’s a great weekend to visit the Farmstand! We’ve added some new crops to the Farmstand fridge for this weekend: spring onions, broccolini, beets, carrots, and kohlrabi. The eating is getting good!
Farm stand is open everyday 8-6 pm for honor system sales. We are also hosting another couple plant sale dates: June 12th and 13th from 9-1 pm. As plants become available, we will also have them for sale next to the farm stand.
Isn’t it too late to plant tomatoes 🍅 though? Definitely not! We are still two weeks away from planting our last succession of tomatoes out in the field . It’s about 60-70 days to maturity for most tomato plants so if you plant next week, you are looking at harvests starting mid August and extending through September.
One way or another, we hope to see you at the farm, Farm dog Zuke gives the turnips his full endorsement by the way, one of his favorite veggies.

Soooo many things happened on the farm in May...
We completed three plant sale weekends, started welcoming CSA members to the farm for their veggie pick ups, escaped from the farm during the heat wave to take baby Naiya to the beach for her 6 month birthday ( she loved it) and our damaged greenhouses finally came down.
If you missed our May Plant Sale Dates, we are having another plant sale weekend on Friday June 12th and Saturday June 13th from 9-1 PM. We have started a fresh batch of plants for these dates and will have our full selection. Early to mid June is still a great time to plant your garden: temperatures have stabilized and your harvests will continue later into the fall.
We haven't given a greenhouse damage update in a little while so here it is. Our two damaged greenhouses came down in May thanks to the help of Cody and his help was a huge relief. For me, it was either spending every weekend taking them down or paying someone to help me so that I could sped more time with the baby: a no- brainer answer for me.
In terms of rebuilding, things are moving forward, but somewhat slowly as we wait to secure funds to send to the greenhouse company as a deposit. We will be building Beilers Greenhouses. They were recommended to me by Maine Farmers who say these things are the strongest, best value greenhouses you can find. We hope that they can go up by the end of the summer, but until then we will feel the loss of the greenhouse space.
Your Go Fund Me Donations have helped fund the demolition and waste removal of the greenhouses, purchase new plastic for the greenhouse that did remain standing, and to pay some important bills that we couldn't afford on our own due to the loss of income from not being able to harvest from the lost greenhouse space.
Our farm will survive this trying season thanks to you all and your support, but I think I am really going to need a vacation after this one 🤣

🥬 Plant Sale Weekend is Finally Here!
Our 4th annual Certified Organic Plant sale opens this Saturday May 9th and Sunday May 10th from 9 am- 1 pm. The crew has worked hard for two months seeding and repotting so many plants and their hard work has paid off as these are the nicest plants we’ve ever grown.
For the first weekend alone, we seeded 720 tomato plants, 15 flats of basil, and 320 cucumbers just to name a few. Our edible flower selection is huge this year and our leafy green plants are looking great.
If you can’t make it this weekend, we will also be open next weekend Sat and Sun as well as June 13th.
The farm stand is also open Thursday - Sunday from 8 am - 6 pm and this weeks selection features salad mix, spinach, arugula, turnips, bok choi, rhubarb, microgreens, baby kale, and super salad.
💚 We can’t wait to see you at the farm this weekend. Bring your moms, tell your friends, and get those gardens ready.

😢💔 We had to say goodbye to our beloved farm cat Couscous this morning
At only a year and a half old, this unbelievably sweet cat left us far too soon. We aren’t sure of the exact cause but it seems that some kind of virus infected her and caused her to develop a severe neurological issue that led to paralysis. It happened quickly. Just one week ago she was hunting bunnies and running around the farm as the happy girl that she was.
Couscous was the farm mascot. We’ve never known such a social cat. She was always there to greet us and any visitors to the farm. She just wanted to be with people and to be cuddled as much as possible. I couldn’t have designed a more ideal farm cat if I tried. Along with her great personality, she was an amazing hunter.
Last summer when Dev was pregnant with Naiya, Couscous would regularly lay on Dev’s big belly and purr incessantly for as long as Dev allowed it. This will always be one of my fondest memories of this cat. She was so sweet to baby Naiya too.
The farm will feel a lot more empty without her loud and adorable personality. She will be forever loved and forever missed. If you knew her, think of her today ♥️
