Macomb Community College

In April, Macomb students learned about volume photography from the School Photographers of America! During this event, students were able to learn about the skills required to take millions of photos a year, including how to become a school photography, the act of green screening, and maintaining consistency of lighting and posing. Additionally, a representative from Sony attended to walk students through the features of their cameras.

Macomb students recently took home multiple awards at the National Leadership SkillsUSA Conference in Atlanta! The medals include:

• Gold Medal Job Skill Demonstration Open
• Gold Medal 3-D Design
• Silver Medal Advertising Design
• Silver Medal Digital Cinema Production
• Bronze Medal Job Skill Demonstration A

The learning continues outside of the classroom (and the country)! ✈️

Macomb Community College's Culinary Arts students and faculty recently returned from an incredible trip to Japan! During this 11-day trip, travelers got to experience the sights, sounds, and, of course, tastes of Japan across several prefectures, including Kansai, Kanto, and Chugoku! 🇯🇵✨

Deanna Sheehan, instructor of Collaborative Media and Design and Layout, partners with local organizations and businesses to give her students real-world work experience before they leave the classroom.
