I've hired a high-powered law firm out of Columbus that specializes in election law and has won cases like this even one locally recently.
Maybe I'll "fail" again but I won't stop fighting for disenfranchised voters and the voice of the people to be heard.

We got them in now the next step is to get them certified with the board of elections and then make sure this administration doesn't try to go ahead & break the law and pay themselves anyway in contravention of the will of the people.

This is a win for Warren. The pellet is Warren can believe that we can do better, expect more, and hold people accountable.

After that on December 18th it gets delivered to the Trumbull County board of elections to validate the signatures and certify the election.

On November 8th the politicians of the city of Warren gave themselves and obscene pay raise and then coupled it with a automatic rise without ever have to vote themselves a raise again.

The officials from the organization said the $2 million requested from council, as well as $2 million that previously was requested from the Trumbull County commissioners, would mainly go toward those infrastructure improvements.

“That $4 million that we’re asking the county and the city for is all for infrastructure, things that would typically be government responsibility,” Payiavlas said.

Franklin said legislation to formally request the funds from Warren council will come at some point during the first quarter of 2024.

Warren City politicians voted to double their salary!
Findley is a city of a comparable size and they only pay $7,000 a year.
Maybe a raise is required.
And maybe if this is one time every 20 years but this insane increase is going to be automatically incremented going forward.

I give homage to the people of Warren Ohio and nobody else.
I've already lost all the things that can be taken from a person.
There's nothing you can give me that I haven't already bought for myself, at this point in life I'm done with self gratification.
Our actions have to be something bigger than ourselves.
These political pay raises are wrong.

the language in the ordinance shocks your senses

I think it's okay for political politicians to get themselves a pay raise.
I think even this obscene amount of an increase one time every 20 years could be argued as justifiable.
However it's an obscene pay raise and it's automated increase in a dubious ethical dilemma for the politicians who vote for somebody else's pay raise and they get the same automatic hidden from the public scrutiny.

reasons I think it is necessary for voters to decide these political pay raises and vote yes or no on this unique and one-of-a-kind legislation which provides for automatic raises with zero public scrutiny in a strange formula.

First, linking public salaries to a vote for a union contract is a moral hazard because it engages a private interest in this public contract. As written, whenever elected officials vote for a raise for the highest paid person in the city, they will be giving themselves a raise — thus the conflict of interest. It may not be a legal ethical dilemma, but it certainly is a moral one. It’s bad construction for governance of the city.

The automatic nature of this also is troubling. The reason elected officials want automatic raises is because they are weak and shameful politicians who aren’t willing to do the walk of shame and admit they gave themselves a raise. They want to hide behind giving a raise to somebody else without having to pay the political penalty for giving themselves a raise.
