EAA Chapter 117

Thank you to Dave Nuss for organizing the ATC tour at Cleveland Hopkins today! We had a fantastic time! Unfortunately, we weren’t allowed to take many photos inside the tower, but we have great memories.

Don’t forget our Pancake Breakfast is this Saturday!!! Tell all your friends and bring them along!

We’re having a pancake breakfast at the Cortland Masonic Lodge on May16th from 9am-11:30am!

Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for children under age 10! Raffle baskets and 50/50 also!

Bill Bancroft was our speaker in February. He talked about working for the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Bill was a pilot and flew a Cessna 182 to provide traffic support. It was very interesting to hear him talk about his experience. Thanks Bill!

The Christmas party was wonderful! The aviation themed white elephant was a hit! Merry Christmas to all!

The Ernie Hall Aviation Museum and Ernie Hall E.A.A. Chapter 117, presented twenty $100 grocery gift cards to representatives of our Air Traffic Controllers at the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport. Our ATCs are always so professional and assist us with various events like Wings-n-Wheels, Young Eagles, and sponsoring the Ford Tri-Motor.

Last call for raffle tickets for the beautiful Varga airplane! Raffle ends on Wed., Oct. 15 at 6:00 pm. with the drawing on Wed., Oct. 22 at 6:00 pm. Tickets are $50 ea. and available at the museum until 3:00 Sunday, Oct. 12 or online at Barnstormers.com or through our website at erniehallaviationmuseum.org

We had some terrific local news coverage of our last Young Eagles!

Young Eagles program gives kids opportunity to take flight in Vienna Township It was all for The Young Eagles Flight Experience which allowed youth ages 8 to 17 to take park in a free flight and learn about avaiation.

We had a beautiful day flying 60 Young Eagles today at KYNG and a delicious pancake breakfast!

Thank you to all the pilots and volunteers who made today possible! We are also thankful to the Youngstown Warren Regional Airport for letting us use the facility and to the Mathew’s Boys Basketball team for volunteering their time! Thank you to Perkins for donating supplies!
