Chickadee Summer Camp!
Want the 90’s slow summer outside but with proper supervision for your kid? We got you!
At Chickadee Summer camp we will spend the entire day outside. The kids will be permitted (encouraged, really) to get messy and dirty. They can play with sticks, climb trees, find toads, go on adventures, and make the best of friends.
We have spots available for Week 2 (June 22-25), Week 3 (July 6-9), and Week 4 (July 13-16). Please message me to sign up!

I can’t believe this is only 3 weeks away! Time is flying! Come see a bunch of preschool teachers slinging drinks 😉 The custom drink menu is TBD!
The kids at Chickadee looooove to cover their bodies in paint.
In our first year we learned that we cannot have the black face paint available.
Not because the children were intentionally trying to inflict harm but because we know that their intentionality does not always dictate the impact it would have on others.

Next Sunday! Come help us kick off Holy Week. All are welcome! We will be outside rain or shine dress accordingly.

This was completely unprompted. The child who is assisting (M) is going to Kindergarten next year. The child he’s assisting (E) just turned 2.5 and started preschool a month before I took this video.
M has been at Chickadee since he was 2.5 and had very few words when he started. Now he is supporting our youngest learners.
This is only one of the reasons why I love my mixed age class. 💙

In just two weeks we have raised over $743,288.59. This does not yet include a slew of checks received in the mail. We update the tracker on https://savemooncamp.org/ few times a day so check back now and then to see our progress. The outpouring of support has been AHH-MAZING. Thank you!
Sharing is also caring. If you can’t afford to donate, please share the website https://savemooncamp.org/, and spread the word. We have had some great media coverage so far but we need more awareness. It helps to let your favorite news outlets and others know that you are interested in something. If you are new to the topic of Moon Camp, we are raising money to preserve 63 acres that is slated for development and is less than 1 mile for Jackie and Shadow’s nest. We only have a short window to get this done. There is background reading in our featured posts.
The goal is daunting but there is no doubt in my mind that we are going to make this happen. Stay positive and believe that good things will come. Since our last update Jackie laid another egg so we have many reasons to celebrate together as a community!
We have had quite the season so far eagle family. We have experienced joy, loss, worry and resolve. Thank you for being with us on this unique journey. Thank you for your support and hard work. The connectedness of this community is magical. We feel Sandy’s spirit everywhere.
Sandy will be honored in the CA State Assembly with an Adjournment in Memory on Thursday, March 12th, @ 9:00 am on the Assembly floor at the end of voting. You can watch live on assembly.ca.gov or we will post a video after. AIM is gesture of respect for someone with ties to the district who has done great things in their community. Sandy’s name and other information will be entered into the official record.

So excited!!! The art will be framed and ready to take home and hang up! There will also be some large canvasses up for grabs that were a collaborative effort! ☺️

We went to Beautiful Whirl'd today! All of the kids (19) ordered their own food and paid themselves! A big thank you to all of the staff for being so helpful and patient with all of these small customers! We will be back tomorrow with another group ☺️
