🌳 “Meet Me at The TREE” — But Maybe Not On The TREE 🌳

If you’ve been around Lake Wappapello long enough, you probably remember the legendary cypress that stood proud on the sandbar — the classic meeting spot for “meet me at The TREE.”

Well… thanks to some amazing locals (and a thumbs-up from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers), a young sapling has been planted in that very spot to revive the tradition.

Here’s the thing: this baby tree is still finding its roots (literally). Anchoring your boat to it or climbing on it might seem harmless, but it can break limbs, damage its root system, and make it harder for it to survive. And we really want this little guy to grow into the new “TREE” we can all brag about years from now.

💡 So let’s treat it like a VIP — admire it, take a selfie with it, wave at it as you pass by, but please don’t tie up to it or climb it. Think of it like your friend’s brand-new fishing pole… look, don’t roughhouse. 😉

If we give it time and space now, it can become the next chapter in The TREE’s story — and a meeting spot for generations to come.
