💔 6 DAYS TO BOARDING. STILL NO INQUIRIES. 💔

We wish we had good news to share today.

We don't.

In just 6 days, Fiona will be heading to boarding if we cannot find a foster or adopter. And we still have not received a single serious inquiry.

What makes this so difficult is that we know only-pet homes exist. We have placed them before. We have watched families open their hearts to dogs who needed to be the center of someone's world.

So where is that family for Fiona?

She is 3 years old, housebroken, wonderful with children, loves car rides, and LIVES for snuggles. She is the kind of dog who just wants to be close to her people.

The only thing she asks is to be the only pet in the home. Fiona simply wants to be the center of someone's world and have all the love, attention, and snuggles to herself.

We didn't save Fiona from an overcrowded shelter just to watch her spend her days in a boarding kennel waiting for someone to choose her.

There has to be someone out there for this sweet girl.

Please keep sharing. Please keep tagging friends and family. We are not giving up on Fiona, and we hope you won't either.

💛 Alumni Update: Mochi 💛

This is what the right person, patience, and love can do.

It's hard to believe that Mochi has been home with Eric for almost 6 months already. For those who followed her journey, you know that Mochi wasn't the easiest dog to place. She needed someone willing to go at her pace, earn her trust, and love her for exactly who she was.

Thankfully, Eric was that person.

Today, Mochi is beyond adored. She has settled beautifully into life with her dad and recently spent a week vacationing with him in beautiful Maine. Just a man and his dog enjoying a wonderful getaway together—exploring, relaxing, and making memories. It's exactly the life we hoped for when we promised Mochi we would never give up on her.

What makes this update even more special is how far Mochi has come. She is becoming more comfortable meeting new people and has even recently enjoyed some playtime with other dogs. Watching her confidence build and seeing her learn that the world isn't such a scary place after all has been incredible.

The dog who once needed so much time and patience now spends her days being loved, spoiled, and experiencing new adventures with her favorite person. Seeing the bond between these two has been nothing short of amazing.

Mochi's story is such an important reminder that some dogs simply need the right match. Not every dog is going to fit into every home, and that's okay. When the right person comes along, everything changes.

Thank you, Eric, for loving Mochi through every step of her journey and for giving her the happy ending she always deserved.

This is what rescue is all about. ❤️🐾

Mochi's happy ending started with one person willing to give her a chance.

Right now, we have other dogs waiting for that same chance.

Could their person be you?

🚨 WE NEED A PLAN FOR FIONA BY NEXT FRIDAY 🚨

We never thought we'd be making this post, but here we are.

Fiona's family has been incredibly loving and generous, but they can no longer continue managing a household where the dogs must remain separated.

Unfortunately, if we do not find a foster or adopter by Friday, Fiona will be heading to boarding.

And that breaks our hearts.

We didn't save Fiona from euthanasia at an overcrowded shelter just for her to end up sitting in a boarding kennel waiting for someone to notice her.

Fiona is only 3 years old, approximately 50 lbs, housebroken, wonderful with children, loves all people, enjoys car rides, walks beautifully on a leash, and lives for snuggles. She truly is an incredible dog!!

The only thing Fiona needs is a home where she can be the only pet.

That's it.

Please don't let this sweet girl spend her days in a kennel waiting for someone to choose her.

📍 Located in PA and available with transport to surrounding states including NY, NJ, and CT.

Please apply at www.rthrs.com.

Please share, tag friends and family, and help us find Fiona's forever home before Friday. ❤️🐾

❤️ Alumni Update: Lolly, now Lillie ❤️

Almost two years ago, Lolly was facing euthanasia with her future hanging in the balance. Today, she is living the life every rescue dog deserves with her loving forever family.

Her family recently shared this wonderful update:

"Lillie is the greatest girl—so loving and happy! She loves the cats, our other dog, and she and our youngest granddaughter absolutely adore each other. We did a DNA test and found out her biggest breed percentages are Bloodhound, Labrador Retriever, and Pit Bull. She has that classic hound "baroo" bark, which I absolutely love! She has never met anyone who wasn't her friend. We love her dearly and wish we could have more dogs."

From uncertainty to unconditional love, Lillie's journey is a beautiful reminder of what rescue is all about. She is cherished, spoiled, and exactly where she was always meant to be.

Thank you to her wonderful family for giving this sweet girl the life she always deserved. ❤️🐾

If you've ever considered fostering or adopting, please do. One decision can change—and save—a life forever. There are so many dogs just like Lillie waiting for their chance.

🎉 Happy Tails: Zopf ❤️

Some happy endings are worth waiting for, and sweet Zopf's is one of them.

This amazing little senior girl has officially found her forever home with two incredible dads and her new kitty siblings, and we could not be happier for her.

From the moment she arrived, it was clear that Zopf had found exactly where she was meant to be. She has settled in beautifully, is getting along wonderfully with her feline family members, and is absolutely soaking up all the love and attention she could ever want.

For a girl who always dreamed of being someone's lap dog, that dream has finally come true. Zopf now spends her days snuggled up with her family, joining them on adventures, and being included in everything they do. She is adored beyond measure, and the feeling is clearly mutual.

Her family immediately committed to giving her the very best life possible, including continuing the veterinary care that was started while she was in rescue. Their love and dedication to Zopf have been evident from day one, and we are so grateful she found her way to them.

What makes this story even more special is how it all came together. While Carmella was fostering our senior boy Red, she told us about another senior in need—Zopf. Carmella had previously taken her in from a shelter and loved her dearly, but knew she deserved a home where she could be completely doted on and cherished.

As we searched for the perfect families, something wonderful happened. Both seniors found exactly what they deserved—forever homes of their very own.

Stories like Zopf's are exactly why we never stop fighting for senior dogs. They have so much love left to give, so much life left to live, and they deserve families who will cherish them for exactly who they are.

Sometimes all it takes is the right people opening their hearts, and for Zopf, everything finally fell into place.

Congratulations, sweet Zopf. Your forever family finally found you, and we couldn't have dreamed of a better ending for you. ❤️

And the happy endings don't stop there! Stay tuned for Senior Red's Happy Tails story coming soon. ❤️

Zopf is proof that age is just a number and that it's never too late for a dog to find the family they've always deserved. If you've ever considered fostering or adopting, we hope you'll consider a senior pet. Their love is truly something special.

EVERY SINGLE DAY WE POST. EVERY SINGLE DAY... NOTHING. 💔

We don't know what else to say.

Every day we share Fiona's story. Every day we hope that someone new will see her. Every day we check our messages hoping for that one serious inquiry that could change her life.

And every day, there is nothing.

No applications.
No serious interest.
No person stepping forward for a dog who deserves so much more.

Fiona is only 3 years old and 55 pounds. She is housebroken, wonderful with children, loves people, enjoys car rides, walks beautifully on a leash, and is as affectionate as they come. She isn't asking for much. Just a family to love and cuddle with.

Yet somehow, she continues to be overlooked. While other dogs move on to their happily ever afters, Fiona remains stuck waiting.

Her current family has been incredibly generous, but they cannot keep her forever. They have done everything possible to help her, and we are so grateful. But the reality is that we are running out of options, and boarding will soon become her only alternative.

That thought breaks our hearts.
Because Fiona doesn't belong in a kennel.

She belongs on a couch.
She belongs on family walks.
She belongs curled up next to someone who loves her.

The only thing Fiona needs is to be the only pet in the home. She is not reactive to dogs in public, but we know she will thrive most as your one and only.

We refuse to believe there isn't someone out there looking for a loyal best friend, a cuddle buddy, a walking companion, and a dog who will love them unconditionally.

Please help us find that person.

Please share this post. Tag friends and family. Talk about Fiona. Help us reach the one person who has somehow not seen her yet.

Fiona has waited long enough. Let's find her the home she deserves. ❤️🐾

💔 FROM STRAY TO SURVIVOR... NOW BROWNIE BUTTONS NEEDS A HOME 💔

📍 Located in Alabama
🚐 Transport available to many states

Some stories break your heart before they heal it.

Brownie Buttons was found wandering the streets of Alabama, terrified of people and too frightened to allow anyone near him. Animal Control ultimately had to trap him just to get him to safety.

His next stop was a very high-kill shelter where euthanasia is a heartbreaking and all-too-common reality.

And it was obvious this boy's life had not been a kind one.

He was emaciated.
He was covered in cuts and scars.
His body told a story no dog should ever have to live through.

Whatever happened to him before he was found, someone had failed him in the worst possible way. 💔

Thankfully, one of our incredible rescue advocates saw him and knew that if she didn't step in, his life would likely end there.

So she saved him.

Over the following months, she gave him everything he had probably never known before:

❤️ Patience
❤️ Safety
❤️ Medical care
❤️ Nutritious food
❤️ Kindness
❤️ Love

And slowly, the scared, broken dog began to disappear.

Today, Brownie Buttons is healthy, happy, and one of the sweetest dogs you could ever hope to meet. 🥹

This handsome Cane Corso mix is approximately 2-3 years old and weighs about 98 pounds. While he's a big boy, he's really just a giant lovable mush who wants nothing more than to be loved.

🐾 Great with people
🐾 Great with other dogs
🐾 Affectionate and goofy
🐾 Ready for a family of his own

Brownie Buttons has been around cats and has done fine, but he does enjoy chasing them from time to time. Because of this, he would likely do best in either a home without cats or one with dog-savvy cats that are comfortable living with a large playful dog.

When his rescuer asked if Road to Home Rescue could help find him the forever family he deserves, our answer was easy:

❤️ Absolutely. ❤️

Brownie Buttons has survived neglect, fear, hunger, and abandonment. Now all he needs is the one thing he's never truly had...

A family.

If you would like to make Brownie Buttons part of your life forever, please complete an application at: 🐾 www.rthrs.com 🐾

Please share. The family he's waited his whole life for may be just one share away. ❤️

💔 WE MADE A PROMISE TO MELODY — NOW WE NEED YOUR HELP 💔

Today was an important day for one of our beloved Forever Foster girls.

Melody had her pre-surgical bloodwork completed in preparation for her dental surgery scheduled for July 6th, and we're happy to report that she was an absolute sweetheart during her appointment.

Even better, Melody has been feeling much better since completing her two-week course of antibiotics. Seeing her more comfortable has been a gift, but we know this improvement is only temporary. The dental disease and infection are still there, and surgery remains critical to giving her lasting relief.

For those who may not know her story, Melody came to Road to Home Rescue in 2024 from a domestic violence situation. Knowing the challenges she had already faced, we immediately welcomed her into our Forever Foster Program and promised that she would never again have to worry about where her care would come from.

Today, we are asking for help keeping that promise.

Thanks to her incredible Forever Foster mom, Melody now knows what it feels like to be truly loved, spoiled, and cherished. She spends her days in a home where she is treated exactly as every senior dog should be—with patience, comfort, and unconditional love. We could not be more grateful for the woman who has opened her heart and home to this special girl.

As one of three dogs currently in our care facing significant medical needs, Melody's surgery comes at a time when our rescue resources are being stretched more than ever. Yet saying no to her treatment was never an option.

At 14 years old, Melody deserves comfort. She deserves to enjoy her meals without pain. She deserves to spend her golden years feeling safe, loved, and cared for.

While we are moving forward with surgery, we still need approximately $1,750 to cover Melody's current medical expenses and upcoming procedure.

Every donation matters. Every share matters. Every act of kindness helps us get one step closer to giving Melody the relief she deserves.

If you would like to help Melody, donations can be made through:

🐾 Cuddly Campaign: (link in comments)
🐾 Zelle: [email protected]
🐾 PayPal: [email protected]
🐾 Venmo: (8949)

If you cannot donate, please share. The more people who see Melody's story, the better chance we have of reaching our goal before July 6th.

Thank you for standing beside Melody and helping us keep our promise to this very special girl. ❤️🐾

💔 NOT ONE SERIOUS INQUIRY FOR FIONA 💔

We are genuinely heartbroken and struggling to understand.

Fiona is 3 years old, housebroken, wonderful with children, loves people, enjoys car rides, walks beautifully on a leash, and is affectionate, playful, and incredibly loving. She is the kind of dog most people say they are looking for. The kind of dog who wants nothing more than to curl up beside you on the couch and be your best friend.

Yet somehow, despite all of that, we still have not received one serious inquiry that could give Fiona the future she deserves.

Meanwhile, time continues to run out.

Her current family has been incredibly kind and generous, but the situation is not sustainable forever. They have done everything they can for Fiona, and we are beyond grateful for them. The reality is that unless we find a foster or adopter soon, boarding is becoming the next step for this sweet girl.

And that is heartbreaking.

Because Fiona doesn't belong in a kennel. She belongs in a home, curled up next to her favorite person, doing what she does best—being a professional snuggler.

The only thing Fiona asks is to be the only pet in the home. She is not reactive to dogs on walks or in public, but through our experiences, we know she will be happiest and most successful as your one and only.

There has to be someone out there looking for a loyal companion, a couch buddy, a walking partner, and a dog who will love them with her whole heart.

Please don't let Fiona continue to be overlooked simply because the right person hasn't seen her yet.

📍 Located in PA and available for adoption in PA, NY, NJ, CT, and surrounding areas with transport available.

Please apply at www.rthrs.com.

Please share, tag, and help us find Fiona's person. We know they are out there somewhere. ❤️🐾

These are the dogs we never give up on.

The seniors. The overlooked. The dogs that so many people pass by because they assume their story is already written.

Then there's Jack Brown.

Watching this handsome boy get a bath from Mom and Dad may seem like a simple moment, but for those of us in rescue, it's everything. 💞

We spend so much time fighting for dogs that others overlook. Dogs that need a little extra patience, a little extra understanding, or a little extra support. Dogs that deserve a chance, even when the odds seem stacked against them.

Today, Jack is living the life every dog deserves. He has a family who loves him, a dad to watch TV with, a mom who makes sure he's spoiled, and a home where he knows he is safe and cherished.

For the past four years, Jack has been part of our Forever Foster Program. While RTHRS covers his medical care for life, Amber and her wonderful family have given him the greatest gift of all—a family to love him, spoil him, and make sure he never has to wonder where he belongs again.

Seeing him happy, relaxed, and enjoying life's simple pleasures reminds us why we never stop fighting for dogs like him. These are the moments that make every fundraiser, every transport, every late-night worry, and every obstacle worth it.

A huge thank you to Amber and her family for opening their hearts to this sweet senior boy and showing him what it means to be truly loved.

This is what rescue is all about. ❤️
