Current situation. This is where we live and I still have to pinch myself sometimes.

I was planning on posting an Independence Day meme. But then I realized that not everyone in America is benefitting from the vision of the founders. In fact more than 1/2 of our population is marginalized along gender lines. And in very real terms, it’s still primarily white middle aged men (of which I am ashamed at times to include myself among the ranks of - but I’m trying to work this through) are the only ones who enjoy full liberty and freedom. Along with, in some cases, abject privilege.

Also, one of our major political parties which makes up a minority of our population (sorry but it’s true) is actually trying to marginalize even more people along the lines of their gender, their color, race, religion, agnosticism or atheism. Which is 100% the antithesis of what a truly free society does.

So until those folks actually get on board with Freedom and Liberty for all as was intended by our founders, I’ll hold off on “celebrating” my freedom. Because clearly there is MUCH work to be done in “forming a more perfect union”.

In other words, “States Rights” only apply to when they want you to take away the liberty of people they want to marginalize. And, “Law Enforcement” only means protecting cops who seek to profile POC and people that they also want you to marginalize - like Democrats.

Exactly! The GOP used to tout their economic agenda as being growth centric while disparaging debt and budget deficits. Now days they have completely “outed” themselves as extremist, white nationalists with a platform that eliminates privacy, security and economic growth. All while demonizing law enforcement and embracing white collar criminality.
