Did you know...

A very deceptive type of wrong answer may seem like a close fit? It may be entirely true and even based on the passage, but it doesn't fully address the actual question.

You know what's strangely relieving, in a way?

You don't need any outside knowledge for reading passage questions. All of the necessary information is in the passage!

Instead, deduce as well as you can and answer the question in the moment rather than having to backtrack, waste time, or forget to go back and answer.

How do you respond to being stuck on practice questions?

Some students are able to reason through it, while others might be more prone to give up right away. I'd encourage you to find a balance! Work it out a bit, but don't get so hyper-focused that you lose time that you could be spending on other problems that you do understand.

There's a very common trap the SAT makers use in the reading section. They'll make a very reasonable assertion — something that's totally true — but it throws students off because the passage was never actually mentioned the statement!
