Wantagh Elementary celebrated Flag Day with their student-studded signature flash mob choreographed dance to Proud to be an American, Miley Cyrus’ Party in the USA, and Katy Perry’s Fireworks turning the front lawn of the school red, white, and blue, as family and friends looked on.
Just after the audience recited the Pledge of Allegiance, Taps was played by three band students who did an amazing job. The second grade chorus, adorned in custom made flag t-shirts, sang special patriotic songs for the audience, including God Bless America and the States Song also known as Fifty Nifty United States.

Wantagh El's class of 2026 took a stroll through the halls of Wantagh Middle giving them a peek into what to expect next fall. Some could see a few high five's and smiles were exchanged between siblings and neighborhood friends.

Elementary and middle school music students were recognized at the Wantagh Board of Education meeting on June 4 for their participation in the NYSSMA Majors festival.
The music adjudication took part on June 2 and 3 at Adelphi University. The Wantagh Elementary School band, under the direction of Jack Schiefer, received a gold rating, signifying that an ensemble has demonstrated an outstanding level of technical and artistic skill. Wantagh Middle School’s seventh grade band, led by Susan Babcock, took part in a music workshop with adjudicators.
Mr. Schiefer, Ms. Babcock and Director of Fine and Performing Arts and Business Education Kelly Jones announced the students from each ensemble and presented certificates.

Whether it’s the student’s first or final Field Day, it’s always the best day of the school year. The day was a gorgeous sunny day filled with clear blue skies. The students at Wantagh Elementary School marched across the street to the baseball fields when the excitement of the day hit, resulting in skipping and running towards their first fun station.

Sitting among an audience of about 120 people at Wantagh High School on May 7 were 17 educators, 3 from Wantagh Elementary celebrating a milestone moment. One by one they were called up, received a yellow flower from Superintendent John McNamara and took in the applause during the district's tenure reception.
Join us in congratulating Wantagh Elementary's James Brostowski, physical education teacher, Karen Pass, reading teacher, and Jaclyn Rossi, reading teacher for being among the 17 receiving tenure.

Wantagh Elementary School students and their families will explore 30 holes of miniature golf at the fourth annual Wantagh Open on April 29. The course is being designed by this year’s fifth grade students and has become a highly anticipated annual event.

Wantagh High School’s spring musical production of “Annie” brings together 60 young actors from each Wantagh school beginning Friday, April 24 through the weekend.
Show times are Friday, April 24 at 7 p.m., Saturday, April 25 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Sunday, April 26 at 1 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for students and senior citizens, and can be purchased online at www.seatyourself.biz/wantaghms.
Wantagh High School’s spring musical production of “Annie” brings together 60 young actors from Wantagh schools for four performances beginning this Friday, April 24.
Evelyn Tierney, a fifth grader from Wantagh Elementary School, was cast as “Annie.” She has experience as an actor, playing Olaf in her school’s production of “Frozen” in December as well as a member of the ensemble in “Finding Nemo” as a fourth grader. Additionally, Evelyn also has performed in shows through the Cultural Arts Playhouse.
