A Special Day in Waltham scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, May 30 has been CANCELLED due to the weather forecast (heavy rain and wind gusts).

While this decision is disappointing, we believe it is in the best interest of the safety and well-being of all athletes.

The Special Day Committee is looking into the possibility of rescheduling the event for a future date and we will keep everyone updated.

Congratulations to Jim Connors, former participant in Opportunities for Inclusion's CBDS Medfield program and a member of the Cambridge Warriors Special Olympics Massachusetts basketball team! The Cambridge Warriors, with an amazing 99-0-1 record, will be representing Massachusetts in the National Special Olympics in Minnesota in June. Justin Barrett, co-chair of the A Special Day in Waltham committee, recently presented a check to Jim and David Tynes, coach of the Cambridge Warriors, to assist with the team's fundraising efforts. We'll be following the team's competition in June! For more information about the team, visit: https://fundraise.specialolympicsma.org/campaigns/Cambridge-Warriors-Journey-to-USA-Games-2026
