In the woods, in the snow, making Terminus proud on this snowy rainy Terminilia! Today (February 23) is the festival of Terminalia, named after the Roman god of boundaries, Terminus and is really the only holiday for surveyors

So, today we had to say goodbye to Dylan. Don't worry he is in fine health, but he has done the unthinkable and taken a town job! All joking aside he has been an wonderful asset to us over the past few years and while we hate to see him go we wish him the best of luck in his endeavours as a Zoning Enforcement Officer! Good luck buddy

Foliage is getting nice so says the Field Crew

Most folks set iron pins or pipes, some folks even put caps on those. Every so often people want concrete monuments, but once in a blue moon you get this...

Excellent falls day for some GPS setup work in Glastonbury CT

What happens when you hit ledge

We found out we had a Tennant in the basement at the office, and answered the age old question of how many Engineers does it take to trap a bunny... The answer is 4.

Some days it's really hot outside, and some hot days the Ice Cream Man has your back! Yes the ice cream man made a special stop for us at the total station and you be we got ourselves a tasty treat!

Monumental Occasion

Daryl is yet again setting the bar for Dapper in the office, while our crews in the field make sure folks can find their corners.

The field crew would like to report that nature is still on course with spring time in full swing. We got snakes, and bees, and snakes, and bunnies oh and did we mention the snakes?

Good afternoon friends and family. We got some good news and some bad news. The bad news it that Daryl is NOT a happy camper with this social distancing, but the good news is yes we are still open and yes we are still supporting the construction and consumer industries.

In case any of you forgot HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!!! Daryl sure didn't forget, just look at that green bandana he has so much spirit!

Oh man we are celebrating our favorite holiday yet again, that's right its TERMINALIA! For those of you not in the surveying field, Terminalia is the celebration of Terminus the Roman god of boundary markers (IE the god of surveying). While Terminalia TECHNICALLY isn't until the 23rd we are going to join with Connecticut Association of Land Surveyors and celebrate today! Traditionally we should be ceremoniously placing the bones, ashes, and blood of a sacrificial victim (animal), along with crops, honeycombs, and wine into a hole at property corners and then placing a boundary stone cap on top. Luckily we all agreed that iron pins, pipes, and concrete monuments get the job done just as well! Our capstone to the festivities this year is going to be lifting a pint with our fellow CT Surveyors after hours to Terminus!

Happy Valintines Day, Our gift to you today is getting to share in Daryl The Dogs Love of Rawhide! Such a happy puppers!

Feb 12... Spring? Crew has killed 5 ticks so far today.

Welcome to February folks! Shockingly we missed some big news back in January, We have a new full time employee! Some of you may recognize Dylan from his time interning with us but we liked him so much we opted to make him a permanent addition to the team. Dylan went to school for, and just graduated with a degree in Geography and he has a particular interest in GIS so we are hoping to utilize him in making our survey lives easier. We have high expectations for you! In other news we have been out surveying all over the state and other than the rain this week have been in the field every day. While it has been cold we are just glad that there isn't any snow, infact we even found a storm drain growing a nice winter lawn!

Day two of our first week back and Daryl is still trying to hide from work... Everyone is back to it and we are in full swing starting 2020 out on the right foot!

Been a bit since our last post because we have been busy! Christopher, James, and Matthew have been attending meeting all over the state, working on projects ranging from residential developments, to vineyards, to storm water management for a middle school. Meanwhile Jon, Zach, and Dylan have been in the field, finding monuments, setting pins, and clearing brush for Eversource just to list a few recent tasks. Daryl has had it the roughest tho, his HR skills have been put to the test in-order to keep morale high with his own doggy brand of moral support
