Big change of pace for us this weekend from ducks to pheasants. We were honored again this year with hosting two separate memorial shoots, for Eddie Palomo and Kevin Dylla. Both of them were great friends of ours who hunted with us for years. Though bitter sweet every year it’s always great to see friends and family come out to honor and remember them as well as keep the tradition going of being out in the field that they both enjoyed so much.

Duck hunting held steady mid week last week but slowed down considerably over the weekend as the weather warmed. Another cool front forecasted for Sunday should get the ducks moving again for us. Despite the consistent warm weather which has proved less than ideal for the ducks, it’s been great for our upland and dove hunts.

It’s been a fun few days, the duck hunting has been steady and the late season doves have been excellent. Also a big congrats to Carson on his first banded bird taken on one of our season lease properties!Casey Cox

Quality over quantity this morning on our duck hunt, light winds made it a little tough on us but a great group of guys to share the blind with. Quickly changed gears for just our second upland hunt of the year.

Fog kept them down a little but another solid hunt in Katy this morning.

A couple good ones on the Katy prairie this morning. Birds are here and the weather is finally cooperating.
