While our solar kiln is big and was a beast to construct, here are plans for one that looks much easier and less expensive. It won't handle the same amount of wood and doesn't have a couple features ours has but it looks like a great project that could really payoff in the long run if you've got boards to dry.

149 degrees in our solar kiln!! Whooweee, that's freaking hot! That's how we dry our lumber to 6-8% using only the power of the sun.

Solar kiln loaded with mostly 2" oak including some live edge. Mostly dry already because these are older air dried stacks.
