Our Spirit Queen, Stephanie, organized a Spirit Week for the library staff last week! Each day had a different theme—including a literary dress-up day, wearing a favorite sports team or musical artist, embodying a genre or Dewey number, crazy hat/sock day, & monochrome day! ✨
Not to worry, the library is still here! You can find us by visiting our website at www.wakefieldlibrary.org; checking us out on Instagram @ www.instagram.com/beebelibrary; subscribing to our newsletter @ www.wakefieldlibrary.org/subscribe; and of course, by coming into our beautiful building at 345 Main Street in Wakefield.

Check out the collaborative mural based on Gustav Klimt's "The Tree of Life" by the Youth Desk!
Artist Emma Turner took Klimt's "Tree of Life" and made a simple pencil outline of his work on white poster board. The outline was cut into 30 squares.
At February's Open Art Studio, artists from 2 years old to adult chose squares, outlined the pencil work, and created their own colorful take on the squares. Since the squares were just a small part of the work, our artists had no idea what the original work looked like. Each square has the original foundation, but is a new take on Klimt's work.
If you look carefully, you can see the curls of the tree and some original features, but this mural is an interesting new artistic creation.
