Our mission is to promote the civil and human rights of all people in Wakefield. Meetings: WHRC meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00pm on Zoom.
Our goal is to reinforce positive relationships in the community and to create educational programs to foster a greater understanding and appreciation for diversity. We encourage community members to attend. The goal of our educational activities is to help communities become more harmonious, respectful, and cohesive. Through working with other groups and agencies within our community, we will strive to eliminate prejudice and intolerance, promote mutual respect and human rights and accept individual differences. This October 2026 the WHRC will be hosting the Cultures of Wakefield festival at the Galvin Middle School. We are sending an invitation to local area businesses of all types who would like to be participate. If interested, contact us at [email protected].

Thanks to all who came to our Juneteenth celebration, and the the Northshore Juneteenth Association for joining us in making this event happen. Special thanks to Dexter the Poet, Janey David, and the members of the Lynn English High School Junior ROTC who were present to raise the flag. Shout out to WCAT for providing tech support and video coverage. Happy Juneteenth!
