Coming soon! Another amazing hit single from my brother Chris Murphy of the Fender Bender Band, "Make It Through Another Day."
Chris wrote the original music and lyrics, played drums in the recording session, and sang the vocals.
He was accompanied by some incredible musicians, who also happen to be some incredible friends...
Fender Bender's Paul Sciaba Guitar on six and twelve string acoustic guitars, and two geniuses from our favorite band, Friends of Fortune, Lou Sp****la on bass, and Steve Baker, who contributed his brilliant piano.
Star of the show was our friend, Doug Batchelder, who recorded the sessions in his Den Studios, North Reading. Doug worked his usual magic in the song's production... and he also added some great background vocals!

We’re very excited to present a brand-new, original song from the Fender Bender (+Plus) band called, “I Should Be Drinking With You”
My brother, Chris Murphy, wrote the music and lyrics.
This project is his baby, and I’m very proud of him and the way it turned out. Chris sang the vocals, and that’s also him playing the drums and acoustic guitar on the recording.
Our brother from another mother, Fender Bender’s Paul Sciaba, contributed the amazing lead guitar.
I added the harmonica solo.
And our good friend, and special guest, Lou Sp****la, of the extraordinary band, Fortune, joined Fender Bender in the studio to lay down the bass, like he does so incredibly well.
Another one of our friends, Doug Batchelder, recorded us at his Den Studio in North Reading, and he did a remarkable job in post production before he sent the song out to be mastered. (As a bonus, Doug also added some backing vocals)
In the meantime, I was working with yet another close friend, computer-whiz Kevin Gillespie (who has added brilliant animation and graphics to many of my comedy tracks) to co-produce an awesome music video to go along with the song.
What’s better than doing something special like this with your brother and the friends that we love, and having way too much fun in the process?
Enjoy!

Here are some photos I took from our recording session last night. We went to our friend, Doug Batchelder's, Den Studio in North Reading, MA, to record an original song that my brother Chris wrote called "I Should Be Drinking With You," along with Fender Bender guitarist extraordinaire, Paul Sciaba, and our buddy Lou Sp****la of Fortune on bass, after indulging on Mongolian Beef and Mai Tai's at Sakura in Wakefield.
What a great night with great friends!
So much fun... and the song sounds amazing!
I'm having another good friend, Kevin Gillespie, who brilliantly adds graphics to my comedy routines, create a music video to go along with the audio. Look for it here in the near future.
