I’m certain we all have been deeply affected by cancer in some way. I’ve had my own personal bout with skin cancer, but more significant was last year when I cared for my mother, while in our home for hospice care. Sadly, she passed away four months after her cancer diagnosis.

I’ve always been a big supporter of City of Hope, which is one of America’s top hospitals for cancer research and treatment. This year they have expands their life-saving efforts to address the novel coronavirus threat on multiple fronts, including the pre-clinical development of a coronavirus vaccine.

It’s been a difficult fundraising year, as many of the in-person fundraisers have been canceled.

We are not letting that stop us! The OPWIL nonprofit, along with HP are teaming together and hosting a Virtual "Thurby", Kentucky Derby Happy Hour and Horse Race.

It is an honor to be the Emcee of this event, as well as have a horse in this race SOAR with Krista Moore https://ourhope.cityofhope.org/team/308964.
