Such a great evening at Texas Music Cafe Listening Room with JD Hinton and his incredibly talented musicians Ryan & Justin. Two big stories from tonight other than fantastic music and awesome venue - Native Wacoan JD Hinton was presented with a proclamation from Mayor Jim Holmes that today would be declared JD Hinton day! Then after the show JD shared a story with Lydia & Brodie that he actually got his start at KWBU in high school as a DJ where he was discovered and asked to DJ at WACO radio. It was where he launched his music career and he credits his DJ experience as one of the biggest influences on his career.

Special thanks to A-1 Banner & Sign Company for gifting tickets to the station. We are grateful for this new partnership with Texas Music Cafe!

On the grounds of what will soon be Barron's Branch - a mixed-use development in downtown - City of Waco leaders and community members gathered to commemorate the start of a years-long $213 million dollar project.

The new 30-acre development will add a new park space, re-expose the Barron's Branch creek for which the district is named, create a pedestrian friendly neighborhood and create multi-use buildings that would feature shopping, office and residential spaces, and restaurant space.

"This is the first step in a much larger vision, a vibrant, connected downtown that celebrates Waco’s Unique identitiy, embraces the Brazos River as its heart and creates a place where people from across our community can come together," said Tom Balk, Director of Strategic Initiatives for the city.
