Meet Skyla & David Holliday — The Founders of Swift Uniforms!

Every story has a beginning, and ours started in 2010 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, with Skyla and David Holliday.

For years, they traveled across Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Louisiana, bringing scrubs directly to nursing homes and hospitals. Swift Uniforms was strictly mobile back then! In 2015, David moved the business to Waco, Texas, to be more centrally located for our traveling team. Then, in true David fashion, a spur-of-the-moment idea turned into something much bigger: our first and largest retail location, the Swift Uniforms in Waco that so many of you know and love today!

But Skyla and David have always been so much more than business owners. From the very beginning, they have treated our staff like family. They have led with love, compassion, and faith. They have prayed for us and over us, given generously without expecting anything in return, and built Swift Uniforms on a foundation of kindness, genuine relationships, and good old-fashioned customer service.

Their goal was never just to build a business. They wanted to create something that helped others while allowing themselves and their staff the flexibility to spend precious time with their families. And that is exactly what Swift has become.

At Swift Uniforms, we truly are a family. We fight like siblings, cry together, laugh together, and make memories together long after the workday ends. That's what makes Swift so special. It's never been just about scrubs. It's about the people, the relationships, and the love behind it all.

In February of this year, we unexpectedly lost David, and our Swift family felt that loss deeply. For the first time in Swift's history, we closed the store for the day. We knew David probably would have been grumbling about it, but we did it anyway.

Many of you probably remember David as "the pacer," the guy who threw shoes across the store in his own ridiculous fashion, or the one whose loud belly laugh could be heard throughout the entire building. 😂 Those little things are the memories we'll hold close forever. He will always be loved, and he will always be missed.

Swift continues on in the way David would have wanted, carrying forward the values, heart, and vision he and Skyla built together. And you can still find Skyla in the store from time to time, helping customers, praying with someone who walks through our doors needing a listening ear, or working behind the scenes to keep everything moving.

Swift Uniforms would not be what it is today without Skyla and David. Their legacy lives on in our staff, our customers, and every relationship we build along the way. 💙💚

So, as we begin our Meet the Staff Saturday series, it only feels right to start where it all began — with the two people who built the foundation of the Swift family.
