Prosthetics are an invaluable part of an amputee’s life. The advances in the technology of these devices over the last two decades has been incredible but with those advances comes increased cost. Not everyone who undergoes an amputation has the insurance coverage or financial means to acquire the prosthetic they need. That’s why APR is proud to work with on a regular basis. This amazing organization provides prosthetic devices to those who would otherwise go without them. We’re proud of our ongoing work with this nonprofit and look forward to helping provide more and more people with the prosthetic devices they need together.

Today we remember and honor all who died in the tragic 9/11 attacks 20 years ago as well as all the men and women have sacrificed life and limb in the days, weeks, and years following the attack. You are not and will not be forgotten.

We love our APR team! Meet Iraida “Iris” Mendez. She is the lab technician for our office so she’s the one behind the scenes making sure our patients get high quality prosthetics in a timely manner. After college, she became a certified orthotics and prosthetics technician. She went into the field because she enjoyed the technical aspects of manufacturing and repairing prosthetics but she also saw the bigger picture that this career was an opportunity to help patients who have undergone an amputation have the opportunity to achieve their goals of returning to their normal lives. Her favorite part of working at APR is having the opportunity to work with a diverse patient community with varying needs. This allows her to constantly be researching and learning new techniques and products that can give our patients the quality of live they deserve.
