We produce 2nd Lieutenants for the U.S. Army, Army Reserve and National Guard. We commissioned our first graduate in December of 2010.
Baylor Army ROTC opened its doors in November 2008, with just a handful of Cadets and two cadre members. In the past five years of full operation, the program has grown to over 95 Cadets trained by seven full-time cadre and one human resource administrator. Baylor Army ROTC not only services students here at Baylor University, but at McLennan Community College and Tarleton State University's Waco campus as well. This morning, Bear Battalion completed their first ruck march of the semester with a four mile march!
As we continue this semester, these rucks will get longer, but today laid a great foundation for what’s to come!

Weapons & Radio Familiarization!
This week, Bear Battalion got hands on experience with the M240, M249, M4, and ASIP radios. This will prepare them for CST as well as future STX lanes! Thank you to the Texas National Guard for hosting us and to the MS4s for providing amazing instructions!

This morning, Baylor Army ROTC hosted its fourth annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at McLane Stadium to honor those who tragically lost their lives on September 11, 2001, and the brave men and women who ran toward danger to serve and protect others.
Baylor Army and Air Force ROTC were joined by more than 1,000 participants, making this year’s Stair Climb our largest yet. Thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, and supported this meaningful event. Your presence helps ensure that we continue to honor the fallen and never forget their sacrifice.

First Lab at Bear Field!
Cadets broke into their MS groups and received training on the Troop Leading Procedures, camouflage & concealment, and Range Cards & Sector Sketches.

This past Thursday, Baylor University had the privilege of hosting 5th Brigade Commander, Colonel Decker. He provided amazing insight on how to succeed as a leader, what Cadet Command will look like moving forward, and the importance of servant leadership. Three of our cadets received coins for their outstanding performance this summer.
We also recognized our first Cadet of the Week, MSIII CDT Woo!

Great job to the cadets that completed the Danish Flyver Ruck March this morning! They demonstrated Bear Battalion’s commitment to going that extra distance and putting in the work even on their own time!!
