This is Texas. And this is how we celebrated 80 years of momma.

Hey y'all, wish my beautiful and loving momma a happy 80th birthday. And listen to this beautiful a capella rendition of "happy birthday" sung to my momma at her "western" 80th birthday celebration.

One of the best parts of my job is that I get to combine my governmental studies background with my love of doing deals and negotiating all in one. It’s a win win for me.

So I was overjoyed to present Bonds 101 to elected officials who attended the Texas Association of Black City Council members at the new library in Cedar Hill—the Traphene Hickman Library.

Cedar Hill Mayor Stephen Mason was a gracious host and Madam President and council woman Andrea J. Barefield ran a very smooth meeting.

Icing on the cake came from State Senator Royce West and State Representative Carl O. Sherman who each shared sage advice and inspiration.

During this 4th of July weekend let’s give thanks to those elected officials who have answered the call to serve and preserve our glorious democracy.

This Easter we were blessed to have Emile Steve Bolden III baptized on Easter! Thank you St Luke UMC and Pastor Richie Butler.

We are so grateful for the gift of Tre and for all of our family and friends who came out to support in his baptism today and his walk with Christ for all the days of his life.
