"Change is always happening in our communities. The real question is “What does it take to be part of change that is real, lasting, and rooted in the people who live it every day?”

Being part of that kind of change takes time and consistency. It means showing up over and over and staying in relationship with the people who are most directly impacted by the change. It also means being there before things happen, showing that you’re invested in the dreams, concerns, and goals of the community you’re in relationship with.

But what does it mean to show up? It means being fully present in community. It means recognizing that you want to do things in partnership. It means recognizing that residents are experts in their own experience and that as guests, we’ve had the privilege of being invited into conversations, meetings, and the storytelling that takes place long before visible change. Showing up shows that relationships and partnerships matter. When relationships are centered, neighbors become centered too. Their voices, ideas, and lived experiences are not brought in after decisions have already been made but are part of shaping the direction from the beginning. That’s what makes change feel more grounded, sustainable, and reflective of the community itself...."

This event has always been about more than golf. It’s about bringing people together in support of something that continues long after the day ends.

In observance of Memorial Day, our offices are closed today as we reflect with gratitude on the sacrifices made for our freedom.

We remember. We honor.

An afternoon at Topgolf can go a long way.

On June 18th, we’ll spend a few hours together, but the impact reaches far beyond that day.

For 25 years, Grassroots has worked alongside families in Waco to create pathways to homeownership and provide the support needed to stay rooted. From building homes to offering repair programs and financial education, the work continues every day.

This event helps move that work forward.

We LOVE partnering with school! Thank you for the invite to participate in the STEM Night. What a fun time connecting with families and promoting learning and creativity.

We love our community partners! Thank you to Rosita’s Honduran Restaurant for a delicious meal that we enjoyed at the end of year celebration with our school partners!

On May 6th, Grassroots gathered with families who joined PACTT throughout the year.

We welcomed 9 families to an end of the year celebration honoring their commitment to learning and connecting as a family. Throughout the year, families learned from some amazing community partners like the City of Waco Housing and Community Development Team and Greater Waco Legal Services. We also covered fun topics and activities like healthy eating and self-care.

We want to give a huge thank you to the schools who partnered with us this year and invited us on their campus to host PACTT.

We also want to thank the wonderful community partners who came and presented and also who provided meals for the families. All information and meals shared encouraged families to learn together and connect.

Lastly, we want to thank the amazing families who consistently joined us and participated in PACTT. We greatly enjoyed learning and connecting with each of you and are proud of the wonderful leaders each of you is in your community!
