⚡ NEVI Funding Opportunity for Tribal Communities
The National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program is helping build a reliable EV fast-charging network across California — and Tribal organizations may be eligible to apply for up to $15.8 million in funding.
📅 The current funding round expires in early April, making it critical for Tribal communities to begin identifying sites and preparing applications now.
Native Energy Services Company (NESCO) supports Tribal governments with:
• Grant application development and submission
• EV charging site identification and corridor planning
• Technical feasibility analysis and project structuring
• Financial engineering for renewable energy and EV infrastructure projects
• Coordination with utilities, state agencies, and funding programs
• Project development and implementation support
💡 NESCO provides grant development and financial engineering support at no cost to the Tribe during the application phase, helping Tribal communities access critical infrastructure funding and move projects forward.
About NESCO:
Native Energy Services Company (NESCO) is a California Licensed A, B, and C renewable energy contractor and a Native American, veteran, woman-owned company specializing in clean energy project development, EV infrastructure, and renewable energy solutions for Tribal communities.
If your Tribe is interested in exploring this opportunity, we encourage you to connect with us soon before the early April funding deadline.

Excited to welcome Ken Holbrook as a Featured Speaker
We are honored that former CPUC Tribal Liaison Kenneth Holbrook, President & Founder of Native Energy Resources, will be joining us as a featured speaker for our upcoming Battery Storage Training for Tribal Communities.
Ken served as the California Public Utilities Commission’s first Tribal Advisor, working directly with tribes across California on energy policy, access, and tribal energy sovereignty. His experience helping tribes navigate energy systems and build resilient infrastructure makes this an incredible opportunity to learn from one of the leading voices in Tribal energy.
⚡ This training is open to all California Tribal communities — not just San Diego.
Even if you are outside of San Diego County, the information will be valuable for tribal leaders, housing departments, environmental staff, energy professionals, and Native homeowners across the state.
During this session we’ll discuss:
• How battery storage systems work
• Why backup power is becoming critical for Tribal communities
• Preparing for wildfires and Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS)
• How energy storage supports Tribal energy sovereignty and resilience
I strongly encourage Tribal citizens, Tribal representatives, and Tribal energy staff across California to attend and to repost this training so others can benefit from the information.

In light of Women in Construction Week, I want to recognize the women who are building careers in an industry where we are still greatly underrepresented.
Industry Statistics:
• Women make up nearly 50% of the overall workforce in the U.S.
• Only about 11% of the construction workforce is made up of women.
• Only about 3–4% of licensed contractors in the United States are women.
• The number of Native American and Latina women who hold contractor licenses is extremely small and rarely documented in national data.
As a Native American, Latina, Navy veteran, and licensed general contractor, I’m proud to lead companies like GC Green, Native Energy Services Company, and Veteran Energy Services Company, where we’re helping build clean energy infrastructure, EV charging networks, and resilient energy systems while creating opportunities in construction and energy development.
Construction is more than a job — it’s a way to build communities, create generational opportunities, and leave something meaningful behind.

Wrapped and proud. 🌊⚡
We’ve officially completed the California Food Service Rebate Program in Southern California Edison territory — supporting nearly 500 restaurants across the Central Coast and Southern California.
From San Luis Obispo, Atascadero, Santa Maria, Monterey, Carmel, and Santa Barbara to coastal communities throughout Southern California — we showed up and got it done.
Huge thank you to my team — Gordon, Yulianna, and Allison — for executing at a high level and delivering real results for small businesses.
And do you know the best part?
We live in California. ☀️
Warm weather. Ocean air. Sunglasses on.
Working along the coast.
Helping restaurants upgrade equipment and save money — because California energy rebates are cool like that. 😎⚡
Beach views.
Clean energy.
Lower utility bills.
Central Coast to Southern California — we’re on it.
Grateful. Fired up. On to the next one. 🚀🌎

Yesterday, Team Veteran Energy Services Company (VESCO) and Native Energy Services Company (NESCO) attended Industry Day in Calexico.
We were proud to be on the ground promoting EV infrastructure development in some of the most rural and underserved parts of California — the very areas that urgently need fast-charging corridors and medium- and heavy-duty charging solutions. Rural freight routes and border communities must be part of California’s clean transportation transition. ⚡🚛🔋
Thank you to the California Air Resources Board (CARB) for delivering an informative presentation and Level 1 workshop during the event.
We’re not just talking about infrastructure — we’re building it where it matters most.

Today I attended the CPUC-CEC Tribal Consultation Policy Presentation and Consultation hosted by the Pala Band of Mission Indians at Pala Casino Spa & Resort.
My sincere gratitude to the California Public Utilities Commission and the California Energy Commission for their continued commitment to strengthening tribal partnerships and ensuring that tribal voices are heard in shaping California’s energy future.
A special thank you to California Energy Commission Commissioner Gallardo, California Public Utilities Commissioner Houck, and Sierra Graves from the CEC for your leadership, transparency, and dedication to meaningful tribal consultation.
Thank you to the Pala Tribe for hosting this important gathering and creating a space for productive dialogue grounded in sovereignty, respect, and collaboration.
I also want to recognize Aaron Thomas, Tribal Liaison for Southern California Edison, and Vanessa Vandever, Tribal Liaison for SDG&E. Your input and ongoing engagement play a critical role in strengthening partnerships between utilities, tribes, and state agencies.
These consultations are essential. Tribal nations are not just stakeholders—we are sovereign governments, infrastructure developers, and leaders in California’s clean energy transition. Strong tribal-state-utility partnerships ensure that tribal communities have equitable access to energy resources, infrastructure investment, and long-term resilience.
Grateful to be part of these conversations and to continue advancing tribal energy sovereignty across California.
