The entity, HOTM, is a superintelligent cosmic conqueror with one problem: it keeps getting distracted by Alan's very human life. His wife's encouragement. His children's laughter. S*x. The alien came to dominate the world but can't stop wanting seconds of Rebecca's home cooking and another roll in the sheets.

It's a story about a man who lets something dark inside him believing it will finally make him worthy — and slowly realizes he already was. It's about a marriage tested to its absolute limit. It's about three genius children quietly running a rescue operation from the living room while Brad the Space Unicorn cartoon plays in the background.

And it ends with a man-sized kaiju made entirely of testicles terrorizing the California rail system, which is also somehow the most emotionally earned finale you've ever seen.
