A free ride at the Oceanfront: Shuttle service to launch at no cost to passengers Starting Wednesday, Virginia Beach will offer door-to-door transportation in electric vehicles at the Oceanfront.

It’s been a fun 5 years but the pandemic did us in . It’s hard enough to run a business 3 months out of the year and pay all the bills, even harder when events are cancelled for 2 seasons. I’m back to teaching full time and have passed this baby on to become a taco truck ! I’m grateful for all my customers these past 5 years, for the NICRA organization and all its members that gave me tips on creating flavors and tweaking recipes. Also a big thank you to the members of Street Food Revolutionaries, the Hampton Roads Food Truck Association and Eat the Streets 757 who helped with booking events and food truck advice ! A HUGE Thank you to my husband who built the truck then kept it up and running, emptying and filling the water tanks all the time , fixing the generator and so much more ! Thanks to my daughters who worked along side me and “hardly complained “ and taste tested all the flavors I would create ! I’ve learned a ton, met so many people and had so much fun !! For now , it’ll just be home gelato making for me! BUT who knows what’s around the next corner ....

After much thought and consideration, I have decided to sell the Chilly Mermaid business. I have realized I can not juggle teaching, tutoring from home, my family life and run a business the way that is should be run. There is just not enough time in the day! My first choice is to sell the business as a whole.
The business includes: 2004 Sprinter 3500 dually van, full wrap, logo is trademarked, attached generator rack with Honda EC 7000 generator (super quiet) 7 pan gelato dipping cabinet with storage for 20 more pans under, 2 cube freezers, tall under counter fridge, Emery Thompson CB 350 batch freezer,(The CB 350 will also make ice cream, sorbet, yogurt, italian ice etc...) Techfrost counter top Blast Freezer (goes to -50) 4 sinks with fresh and disposal tanks, 2 stainless steel tables, 7 stainless steel gelato pans and lids, 2 container dipping well, panini press for gelato paninis (used 3 x), immersion blender , cambro cups and lids, sidewalk chalkboard, white board, square readers with chip, chest freezer. In addition, I will give you all remaining supplies: cups, spoons, 5 liter gelato pan liners and lids. 2.5 gelato pan liners and lids, , flavoring pastes, natural dyes etc.. . I will pass on my contacts and basic recipes. If it is purchased locally, once set up, I will come and show you how to make the gelato and sorbet, if needed. $55,000.
