WHAT A MESS!
I am getting daily correspondence in regard to IRS letters being received by my clients.
The most popular one this week is the letter stating they don't have your bank account information for your refund yet you owed. If you receive this one and you did in fact OWE, just file it away with your taxes. You don't need to do anything.
For those with refunds, they are definitely behind in processing them.
I am still also seeing a lot of letters asking for further verification of energy credits, the overtime deduction and the car loan interest deduction. Send them what they are asking for and reach out if you need assistance.
I will be offline for a while as May is a very busy month for me personally but I can be reached via email and text. I won't have portal access until I get settled and get everything up and running again.
Thank you all so much if you made it this far.
PS Gentle reminder that if I advised you to change your withholding and you still haven't gotten to it...now is a great time!

AND that's a wrap! I will be taking a month break as I am moving but I will update once I am settled then we can tackle these extensions. Thank you all for your patience during this crazy tax season.
I have already been notified by several clients that they have received letters from the IRS asking for more information in regard to the new overtime deduction, tip deduction and more strict energy credit rules. If you receive a letter, provide them what they are asking for and keep me updated via portal message or email please.
It's getting real.
Real stressful, real late, real busy
So be real patient with me, please.
Thank you for your patience this CRAZY tax season. With all of the changes in place, things are taking a little longer on most returns. I appreciate you all! Silver lining...it's absolutely FLYING by!
Take a minute to enjoy the gorgeous weather here in 757,,,77* and sunny finally!
It's tax season and with less than a week in, it's gonna be a doozy! Please be patient with me. Returns are taking way longer to prepare with all of the tax law changes.
IRS just announced that tax season efiling will begin on the 26th of January.

Looks like free file is a thing of the past.
IRS Kills Off Popular Free Direct File Option For The 2026 Tax Filing Season While the IRS hasn’t officially confirmed that the program is dead, the website indicates that the program is closed—and states have been notified that it will not be in place for 2026.
For those that have still not filed their returns for tax year 2024, tomorrow is the deadline for extensions. The IRS is expected to shut down mid to late November for the remainder of the year. If you are still wanting to get your return completed, I must have everything no later than the first week of November as I will be taking the month of December off from tax work. There is a lot of continuing education to be taken this year with all of the new changes coming about.

IRS Issues Guidance On New Deductions For Seniors, Tips, Overtime And Car Interest Still confused about the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA)? The IRS has issued some initial guidance with respect to new provisions that take effect for 2025.
I have three webinars scheduled for Friday to get caught up on the new changes in tax code...all 870 pages of it.
Client poll: what would be your preferred method of receiving information in regard to tax law changes?

Good Monday morning! I have had a lot of you reaching out in regards to the "One Big Beautiful Bill Act" and what it means for you. I am unpacking the ins and outs of this as the information comes out. I do want to address one thing right away though. Social media and news outlets seem to be giving the impression that tips and overtime will not be taxable and thus, excluded from income. They will still be included in income and taxed at the state and local level. They will also be taxable for social security and Medicare as usual. It's important to note that this is a federal income tax deduction, not an exclusion. There are limitations as well as income restrictions. MUCH more to come!
