Today, President Joe Biden is chasing President Donald Trump to the Southern Border. After years of radical Biden open border policies that have created a flood of illegal crossings, drugs, and crime. Since President Biden took office, there have been 8.7 million illegal crossings. Which is greater than the population of 36 states.

The Biden border crisis is impacting all of us. No community in West Virginia is safe from the scourge of deadly fentanyl pouring across our Southern Border, or the violence brought by illegal immigrants. Across America there have been stories of illegal immigrants assaulting police and committing sexual violence against minors. College student Laken Riley was murdered as a direct result of Joe Biden’s policies.

President Biden can shut down the border, but instead he intentionally opened the gates and releases thousands of dangerous criminal illegal immigrants every day. The House has acted to restore President Trump’s successful border policies. The Senate must pass the Secure our Border Act to shut down the border and restore order.

I was honored to welcome Lucas Kniska and Ethan Tomlinson from Trinity Christian School - Morgantown, WV to my district office. I hosted an event to congratulate them on winning the 2023 Congressional App Challenge. The App Challenge is the most prestigious prize in student computer science. Participation in the challenge has grown exponentially and reaches student populations across our great country. Every year, I am impressed by the collection of stellar applications we receive.

Lucas and Ethan's winning app is called ObjecTracer. The app utilizes artificial intelligence to help identify security threats. They were particularly focused on using the app to improve school safety. West Virginia is budding with young engineering and tech talent and I wish them the best in their future endeavors!

I recently enjoyed a tour of the Pierpont Food Service Management Programs in City of Fairmont - City Hall. They are ranked #4 in the country for culinary arts. Thanks for the informative visit and tasty treats!

I had the opportunity to stop by the new Menards store in City of Bridgeport WV this week. A great location providing good jobs for nearly 200 West Virginians. Thanks for having me!

It is always great to be out and about in West Virginia's Second Congressional District. On Monday, I enjoyed a wonderful tour of Grafton City Hospital. Thank you for all you do to provide health services to the people of Taylor County.

It was great catching up with Dr. Ben Carson as he spoke to students at WVU yesterday. He discussed the need for young conservatives to get involved in government based on his experience as Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.

I voted to impeach Secretary Mayorkas as he has been totally derelict in his duty to enforce the laws passed by Congress to secure our border. Due to his flagrant disregard for the law, America’s border is completely overrun by illegal immigrants.

This week, I voted for three pieces of legislation to keep our communities safe: the Agent Raul Gonzalez Officer Safety Act (H.R 5585), the Consequences for Social Security Fraud Act (H.R 6678), and the Protect Our Communities from DUIs Act (H.R 6976).

I’m proud to vote for legislation to remove criminal illegal immigrants from our country. President Biden’s disastrous open border policies are threatening every community. Illegal immigrants who evade Border Patrol and commit crimes should have no right to stay in the United States.

H.R 5585, the Agent Raul Gonzales Officer Safety Act, protects American communities by increasing penalties for smugglers and illegal aliens who evade Border Patrol agents and engage in dangerous high-speed chases. Illegals who intentionally evade Border Patrol agents will be subject to criminal penalties and be deemed inadmissible and removable from the United States.

H.R 6679, the Consequences for Social Security Fraud Act, creates a new ground of inadmissibility and removal from the United States for illegal aliens who commit Social Security fraud.

H.R 6976, the Protect our Communities from DUIs Act, would amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to include driving while impaired as grounds for barring an illegal alien from entering the United States and makes it a deportable offense for those already in the country.
