Most PHP driven websites are still running a version of PHP5. Since website owners can't see the problem (since their site is still appears to be running OK), it is a challenge to get them to understand the need to upgrade. The cost and effort to rebuild seems to outweigh the improvement in security and a faster loading website.
PHP as you know it is dead. It's time to upgrade PHP If you are running PHP5 you need to upgrade your website. Your website will be more secure and run much faster.
