Making maps and merch for the 757. Creator of the Coffee & Sweet Tooth discount passports - available at shop.maptacular.co

How many times has the algo shown you an event you’re interested in - only for you to realize you already missed it? 🤦

So I’ve decided to start a newsletter that rounds up coffee shop events and news from the 757 - here’s a handful of what’s included in the first newsletter.

I’ll maybe send it every couple of weeks or every month, you can subscribe via the link in the bio.

If you’re a coffee passport holder I’m aiming to do some additional specials throughout the year too, like exclusive stickers available at specific shops. So keep watch for those.

Stopped by the recently opened this morning, which is just off VB Blvd close to the Central Library. They have a standard coffee menu, pastries and Morrocan breakfast with Msemmen bread.

Made myself a new coffee mug featuring a bunch of the Ocean Ave storefronts I’ve recreated, as I love the architecture on Bobs Burgers. Got Teddy’s truck on there, Hugo’s health inspector van, Joel’s rolls too.

A breakdown of why I love local cafes:

⭐️ Seasonal latte with unique flavors you can’t get in the chains
🥐 Amazing scratch-made pastries from a micro bakery or baked in-house - not mass produced and shipped across the country.
+ $$$ going to an immigrant/female/minority/LGBTQ+ founders, not billionaires.
☕️ beans often recently roasted locally, or even in-house
+ merch that reps the region & makes great gifts.
+ comfy spaces with character or history and just enjoy my coffee, or sometimes even chat with the owner

😄☕️ what did I miss?

I love it when there’s so many amazing looking things in the pastry case that’s it’s hard to make a decision. In this trip to I went with the basque cheesecake and a pistachio cold brew, plus got my coffee passport stamp of course! The ube cheesecake, panna cattas, lemon curd buns and honey layer cake were all tempting too.

Coffee Passport trip to today, they always have some unique Filipino flavors that you won’t find anywhere else, and today I tried the Guluman (grass jelly) cold brew, paired with an Ube Fatty cookie. Both amazing!

This is their second year as a Coffee Passport participant.

Took the passport over to Sleepy Cowgirl today to get my stamp. Got a s’mores cruffin and a Dusty Caramel latte - (creme brulee). All very tasty. The place was pretty busy so didn’t snap many pics indoors - but there’s plenty of pink everywhere!
