Freeze dried strawberries are one of our favorites. In fact I did these last week and they are already gone. I didn’t hide them fast enough! A freeze dryer is different than a dehydrator. It removes more moisture, retains more nutrients, and some foods can store for up to 25 years. It has been a great addition to our prepping but also for our everyday kitchen pantry. Emergency preparedness-Storing food long term Did you know some foods will last 25-30 years if you store them properly? To start my pantry I bought : -Mylar bags, oxygen absorbers for each, and labels from @wallabygoods (Use code Charissa5 for discount) -5 gallon buckets with gamma seal lids from Amazon and tote bins -Food from Costco/Walmart/WinCo etc. -You can get a cheap straighter from Amazon or an impulse sealer from @wallabygoods Examples of dry Foods I’m putting in my mylar bags that will store long term: White rice, beans, oats, flour, pasta, sugar, spices, potato flakes, baking powder, etc. You can also use multiply Mylar bags in each buckets in small quantities. Putting the Mylar bags in a bucket or totes makes it easier to store and an extra layer of protection. *Check out my Amazon storefront in my bio link to see everything I’m using.
