Hot Rod Power Tour 2026 Rolls Through Virden!

Today, Virden welcomed thousands of automotive enthusiasts as the Hot Rod Power Tour 2026 made its way through town along Historic Route 66. With over 5,000 vehicles registered for this year's tour, the streets were filled with an incredible variety of classic cars, muscle cars, hot rods, and custom builds.

With the blessing of the City of Virden, participants were given the green light to perform burnouts at the Route 4 four-way stop, creating an adrenaline-filled atmosphere that attracted spectators from throughout the area. Many of the bystanders lining the streets and filling the Square traveled from outside Virden to experience the excitement firsthand, bringing additional energy and support to the community. Local law enforcement did an outstanding job directing traffic and ensuring everyone remained safe while enjoying the action.

The weather was warm but beautiful, making for a perfect day to celebrate automotive culture. Tire smoke filled the air as drivers put on a show, while local kids helped keep the action going by pouring water near the north stop sign to aid the burnouts.

A huge thank you goes out to Neato's Elements and A Marc Above for hosting this exciting event, the City of Virden for supporting the festivities, the Virden Police Department for helping keep everything safe and organized, and all of the vendors who set up around the Square and contributed to a fantastic community atmosphere.

Events like this not only bring automotive enthusiasts together but also introduce visitors to everything Virden has to offer. Today's stop was a great showcase of what makes small-town America and Historic Route 66 special.

We're already looking forward to seeing the tour return next year.

Chatham Residential Development Project Update

On May 28, 2026, SC Handy Drones was on-site in Chatham, Illinois, capturing aerial footage of the latest residential development project located along Plummer Boulevard near Glenwood High School.

This exciting new development is being brought to life with the support of Martin Engineering Company (MEC), which provided the civil engineering services for the project and assisted with permitting through the Village of Chatham. Once complete, the development will feature 24 residential units consisting of a mix of townhomes and apartments, helping meet the growing housing needs of the Chatham community.

From the air, the scale and layout of the project become much easier to appreciate. Project Update: Maynerich Financial Grand Opening

A major milestone has been reached for Maynerich Financial as the doors officially opened on their brand-new facility.

On May 30th, Andrew Maynerich celebrated the Grand Opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the front entrance, marking the completion of a project that has been exciting to watch from start to finish.

It was great to see so many community members, friends, family, and supporters come out to celebrate this achievement. From the early stages of construction to the final finishing touches, this project has been a fantastic example of what can be accomplished through vision, dedication, and teamwork.

A special congratulations goes out to the crew at Midwest Construction for their outstanding work on this project. Their craftsmanship and attention to detail helped bring this vision to life, and I look forward to documenting many more of their projects in the future.
