Brittany McGehee Welch began her musical journey at the age of 6, when she attended her first piano lesson. She began a small studio in middle school with the mentorship of her state and nationally certified teacher, and knew almost from the start that this would be her passion. After offering lessons in Louisiana from 1998-2004, Brittany headed to Tennessee to study music at Bryan College, where she earned a Bachelor of Science Music degree in Piano Pedagogy. Following graduation, she returned to Louisiana and completed the requirements for national certification through the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA). Brittany served a 2-year term as vice president for the North Shore Music Teachers Association (NSMTA) and held dual membership in the local chapters of the Northshore and New Orleans (NOMTA). In addition to teaching in a private piano studio, Brittany was on the faculty of Loyola University for their Preparatory Arts Program. Since her move to Baton Rouge, she has become an active member of the BRMTA and enjoys teaching her students of all ages.
