Fabulous Fourth Grade at IES

With the gracious grant awarded by Carroll EMC, students put their knowledge of fractions to use today with a tasty recipe for chocolate chip cookies! This experience for students was priceless as their involvement in the process promoted connections between the skills they have practiced and real world application. I’m confident we may have some future professional chefs in this crew! These cookies were delish! 👨🏽‍🍳🍪👩🏽‍🍳

Math review is fully underway and the kids are enjoying some engaging games in the process! Today’s “Unfair Game” had its own little spin and kept them all on their toes the whole time! Let’s keep sharpening, fourth grade! You’ve got this!

Class Parties continued…we had a fabulous time together and really enjoyed having some of our families join us!

Today we held our class holiday parties! It was wonderful to hear the laughs and feel the joy in the room with our students and their families. We hope they felt the love in every detail and know that we realy enjoyed our day together. 🩶

4th Grade: The "Social" Butterflies

There was some seriously STELLAR problem solving happening today as fourth graders were introduced to Math Tiles for the first time!

What a great week in Mrs. Langford’s homeroom and ELA class! We created our Social Contract to help build the environment we want our classroom to be. We played lots of get to know you games. We worked collaboratively to put puzzles together, silently and talking with each other. We danced around the room to find new friends. This week has been all about motivating each other and building relationships. It’s been a blast! We are off to a STELLAR start!

Reading with our Gnomies! Ms. Hermann’s Science and SS classes enjoyed reading some books about the solar system while snuggling with our class gnomes. 🚀☄️🪐🛰️🔭✨🌕
