For those who have never seen the game of Goalball, it is an incredible sport for blind and low vision people and a Paralympic sport. Here is a video of the Atlanta team competing. Douglas County resident Christopher Morgan is #7 on the orange team.

The Villa Rica Lions were proud to volunteer at the Georgia Blind Sports Southeast Goalball Tournament this weekend!
Ashley served as a timekeeper, while Stacey helped keep score as teams from across the United States came together to compete in this exciting and inspiring event. Goalball is a unique sport designed specifically for athletes with visual impairments, and it was an honor to support these incredible competitors. We were able to support Douglas County native Christopher Morgan’s Atlanta team, and they WON!
We also enjoyed reconnecting with fellow Lions from our district, including Hal Simpson and Fran Schefer. Events like these remind us of the impact Lions make through service and our commitment to supporting the blind and visually impaired community.
Thank you to Georgia Blind Sports for allowing us to be a small part of such a fantastic tournament!

Today, the Villa Rica Lions Club was honored to join the Villa Rica Public Library’s Summer Reading Kick-Off Program!
Our volunteers provided free vision screenings for 78 children and made 10 referrals for further evaluation. Early detection can make a big difference, and we're grateful for the chance to serve our community.
It was great to see so many families enjoying the event, exploring books, and signing up for the summer reading challenge.
Thank you to the Villa Rica Public Library for inviting us and to everyone who stopped by for a screening. We look forward to continuing to serve our community. Our screening team had a blast!

Have you seen the community garden at the Senior Center?
Villa Rica High School student Zachary McCord and Lion Kennadi Smith are doing a great job taking care of the garden, keeping it in pristine condition and ready for harvest.
We have heard that many have enjoyed the produce from the garden and have been able to include fresh vegetables in their meals.
Stop by and check it out!
