A health worker in Uganda offered Julius medicine to prevent and treat trachoma, but he refused to take it. Why? A root cause analysis conducted by WI-HER under USAID's Act to End Neglected Tropical Diseases | East program uncovered how misconceptions about the cause of the disease initially held him back.
Using Community-Centered Root Cause Analysis to Reach the Last Mile in NTD Elimination - WI-HER The Root Cause Analysis (RCA) tool and process helps identify gaps in the health system as well as who is being missed by health services.
Understanding the gender issues that influence gaps in school enrollment and retention is critical to improving education for both girls and boys.
Evaluating gender-related barriers that affect boys’ and girls’ access, attendance, participation, and attainment in school enables the development of new interventions or modifications to existing interventions to overcome these barriers and work toward increased opportunities for both boys and girls to receive high-quality education.
