20 - Daybreak Pregnancy Care Center Bottles for Babies Project. We will provide a baby bottle bank for every family that wishes to participate. You will be challenged to fill those bottles with loose change. At the end of the quarter, we will then give the money to Daybreak.
20 - Family Fun Day Luncheon following worship service.
(Western Theme) bring your favorite covered dish.
20 - Dooly Camp Meeting Worship Service at 5 p.m.
24 - Joy Circle Salad Luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Wesley Hall
Plates are $12 each.
30 - Sunshine Gang Road Trip at 11 a.m. (Open Hearts). Please bring cotton dish towels for the kitchen.

Praise Report

Ron Hanstine was released from the hospital today and resting at home. He and Margo would like to extend a heart felt thank you to everyone for their prayers and support.

Exodus 15 : 1 - 7, 11 (RSV)
"...I will sing to the Lord, for he has triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea."

Revelation 15 : 2 – 4 (RSV)
"...standing beside the sea of glass with harps of God in their hands. And they sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, 'Great and wonderful are thy deeds, Lord God the Almighty! ... Who shall not fear, O Lord, and glorify thy name?'"

Do you recall what happened right after the Israelites sang for joy over their deliverance? They doubted. Within days, their praise turned to panic, leading to forty years in the wilderness. How quickly the human heart moves from celebrating God’s victory to doubting Him in our current trials.

To fight back against doubt, we must choose to anchor our hearts not in the uncertainty of the wilderness, but in the proven character of the God who parted the sea and stands with us still.

O Lord God Almighty, conqueror of all, though we are not worthy,
may your boundless grace and mercy cover the believer
and make us forever your own.
Amen.

Today we remember not just the tragedy of 9/11, but also the grace given to us as God held us in His arms.

UPDATE
Brad Wilkin (Sharon Wilkin's son)

Brad's surgery is scheduled for Thursday September 10th at 7:30 am. Please keep Brad, the entire Wilkin family, and the medical staff in your prayers. Sharon and the family are grateful for the prayers already lifted up and acknowledges the power of God working through them.

Brad's recovery will likely be lengthy requiring Wayne and Sharon to remain in Florida for an extended stay.

Margo was released from the hospital with no major diagnoses. Ronald and Margo both extend their heartfelt appreciation to everyone for their assistance and prayers. Each of you are greatly appreciated.
