April 11, 2024 - a fun night for me with Brooke Surgener, Daytona Beach 2000 and First to Eleven, while flying the Cancer Can Rock flag.

If we can gain even a fraction of the traction this talented group has in gathering dedicated fans and followers, we'll have done well for ourselves.

I became a fan of the group after seeing their YouTube cover version of Leigh Bingham Nash and Sixpence None The Richer's hit, "Kiss Me". The production quality was top notch, and the band evolved out of Ryan Krysiak's Erie, PA based Monochrome Studios to the point where they now have a national following, and are embarking on tours.

My favorite moment in that video, if you hunt it down on YouTube, is at 1:09, where lead singer Audra Miller shows her knowledge of the track and her precision as she momentarily stops motion in perfect sync with the music.

As a guy who's edited a few videos for Cancer Can Rock Featured Artists, it's nice to see people who put care, detail, and attention into their craft, and last night's concert was consistent with that as well.

Erie has a lot to be proud of.

Those of you who follow Cancer Can Rock are familiar with my longtime friend, Thierry Sagnier - who was the second artist recorded by CCR. His poeticism and steel guitar skills are on display in the song that he penned and our band Idylwood performed, "Changes." - Enjoy.

One thing I really enjoyed about being in Idylwood was that occasionally I could use my vocal bari-tones to harmonize under the lead vocal. So often it's done above, pitch-wise, but we managed to pull off the other direction in a few of our songs.

This is a song that featured Thierry Sagnier on Melobar guitar, Lee Gordon Jones on Lead vocals and Guitar (he also wrote the song), and Nathan Oliver and Crystal Rose (now Scott) on Bass. I played keyboards and did backing vocals. Also mixed the whole album. Enjoy - soon to follow, another song written and sung by Thierry.

Another YouTube video, made from turn-of-the-century music from Idylwood, the band I was with in the "aughts" of the millenium. Lee Gordon Jones on vocals and guitar, Thierry Sagnier on guitar, Nathan Oliver on drums, Crystal Rose on Bass, and myself on Keys.

Used the Fiverr service for this one and found a talented and friendly dude in Turkey to find the footage. You might see his name again in the future.
