Just some friendly reminders about heartworm disease from your vet care team ✨

❤️ Heartworm disease is a serious but completely preventable illness that can affect both dogs and cats.

❤️ It is spread through mosquitoe bites, meaning ALL pets are at risk year-round. 🦟

❤️ Once infected, worms live in the heart, lungs, and blood vessels, causing damage that can become life-threatening over time.

❤️ Treatment for dogs can be lengthy, expensive, and hard on the body — unfortunately there is no approved treatment for heartworms in cats.

❤️ Annual testing and consistent prevention is key in ensuring your pet stays protected! 🔑

If you have any questions, would like to schedule your pet for testing or need prevention you can call our office at 912-535-8165!

It’s Onion Festival week! 🎉✈️🎡
You know what that means… lots of local events, activities, and all-you-can-eat of those sweet Vidalia Onions!

While you’re out enjoying the fun, don’t forget about your four-legged friends at home:

🧅 Onions & garlic are toxic to pets! Even small amounts can cause serious health issues. Keep these foods—and the trash—out of reach.
🐾 Double-check pet identification. Make sure tags are secure and easy to read. If your pet has a microchip, ensure it’s registered and your contact information is up to date. As well as collars/harnesses are fitted and adjusted properly.
🎆 Fireworks & loud noises can be scary. Extra activity or changes in routine can also be just as stressful. If your pet needs anxiety medication, be sure you have it on hand and give it as directed ahead of time.
🌞 Watch the heat! Temperatures can climb quickly this time of year. Make sure pets have plenty of water, shade, and indoor breaks. Never leave them in vehicles! Remember, asphalt gets much hotter than the air and can burn paw pads.

A little planning goes a long way in keeping your pets safe—and everyone stress-free. 💚💛

Nothing makes us happier than seeing familiar faces come back through our doors! 🐾 Diesel and Rocko first came in as puppies and now they’re all grown up. Still cute as ever. 💓
Being part of their journey from puppyhood to adult is one of the best parts of what we do!

A couple of weeks ago, we traded in our scrubs for running bibs at the the 2026 Chick-fil-A Road Race. We enjoyed being able to come together and support our community for a good cause!

We're also incredibly proud of our team for stepping outside the clinic and embracing a little challenge. 💪🏃‍♀️🐄

REUNITED! 💜🐶

This fur baby was brought into our clinic by a Good Samaritan last week. The individual mentioned she showed up at their house the week prior. They went door to door looking for the owner but with no luck. Fortunately, for this sweet face we now know as Mia, she still had her original collar and rabies tag on. We immediately went to work tracking down the numbers and were finally successful in reaching out to her owner!

We live for moments like these! They’re also a great reminder of how important proper identification is for your pets. While collars and tags are incredibly helpful, they can sometimes fall off or become unreadable.
That’s why we highly recommend microchipping your pets. It’s a simple, permanent way to help ensure they always have a way back home if they get lost.
If your pet isn’t microchipped yet or you would like more information, give us a call - we’d love to help keep your furry family members safe!
