Although we were unable to physically attend Shiner ISD’s scholarship award ceremony yesterday evening, we are honored to announce that the recipient of our $250 Sportsman Scholarship is Kylynn Ramirez, who in her application & essay, showed resilience, strong family values, and a love for sports.

DOCPAC will be offering the following low-cost services on Monday, May 11th thru Friday, May 15th from 10:00am - 5:00pm each day. (No appointment is needed)

⚠️Requirements:
• Dog or cat must be non-aggressive so our staff can handle them for these procedures.
• Dogs must remain on a leash or in a pet safe carrier at all times.
• Cats must be contained in a pet safe carrier at all times.

Yesterday, we had the honor of awarding our $500.00 2026 “Hero Scholarship” (scholarship designated for a graduating senior with plans of joining the military, law enforcement, criminal justice, or first responder services) to Jacob Bridgefarmer of LaGrange ISD.
Jacob’s application & essay also reflected the same values that Philip Wayne Rogers lived by.

We have one more scholarship ceremony to attend next week & will be announcing the recipient here, once it has been presented.

It was an honor to present our first two scholarships yesterday evening at the Hallettsville ISD Rewards Ceremony.

The recipient of our $1000 “Servant’s Heart Scholarship” was Nathan Henke.

The recipient of our $1000 “Angel Memorial Scholarship in Memory of Wyatt Gaitan” was Zander Martinez.

We have yet to award two more 2026 scholarships to students attending other schools within our service area.

🍼 Sometimes the smallest things make the biggest difference 💙

A young mom came to us not long ago, doing everything right—working hard, caring for her baby, and trying to stay afloat. But like so many families, she fell into that space in between… making too much to qualify for assistance, but still struggling to afford everyday essentials like diapers.

Because of support from our community, we were able to help her that day—sending her home with what she needed and a little less weight on her shoulders.

That’s exactly why the PWR Foundation exists.

Founded in memory of Phillip Wayne Rogers of Hallettsville, a man who loved his family deeply and never hesitated to help others, our mission is to continue that same kind of care for families in need.

Today, we are incredibly thankful to Walmart’s Spark Good Local Grant program for awarding us a $500 grant to support our diaper fund.

With this support, we can:
🍼 Provide diapers to families who need a helping hand
🔄 Continue our diaper trade-in program so parents can swap sizes they’ve outgrown
💙 Reach more families who might otherwise fall through the cracks

This is more than just diapers—it’s relief, dignity, and knowing someone cares.

From our family to yours, thank you to Walmart’s Spark Good Local Grant program for helping us carry on Phillip’s legacy and make a difference right here in our community.
