Fun Fact Friday! Almost everyone has heard of the Wizard of Oz. People often quote the famous books, and there have been numerous adaptations. However, it was a coincidence that the "Land of Oz" happened to be named "Oz". Baum was thinking up a name when he happened to look over at his filing cabinet. He noticed that one of the draws was labeled "O-Z" and decided that would make a good name for his fantasy land.

It's time for another fun fact Friday, and based on the weather, this fact feels relevant. The United States has around 100,000 thunderstorm every year.

While humans have unique fingerprints, dogs and cats have unique nose prints. Their noses have individualized patterns of bumps and ridges similar to the loops, tents, and whorls human fingerprints possess.
