🐾💖 Ellie Mae "Snidely" 💖🐾
Hey there! I may not be the newest kid with Paws4Christ Animal Rescue, but between you and me... I am definitely one of the most adorable ☺️🤫
My name is Ellie Mae, but my foster dad calls me "Snidely" because I always look suspiciously like I'm plotting something. The truth? My face is permanently stuck somewhere between "I know what happened" and "I absolutely did it, but you can't prove it." 😏
And yes... I know you've noticed my smile. Let's just address this. My face is a little lopsided. I hear people ask about it all the time.
When I came into Paws4Christ Animal Rescue as a small puppy, two veterinarians confirmed that I had suffered blunt force trauma to my face. Someone hurt me 💔
The vets discussed a very invasive surgery to reset my jaw that would have required rods and weeks of recovery. Instead, they decided it was best to let me heal naturally.
And honestly? I think they made the right choice.
I don't look weird—I look fabulous 💅✨
My smile gives me character. I look like I just heard the neighborhood gossip and I'm trying really hard not to laugh. Some days I resemble a dog who accidentally got into the espresso. Other days I look like I know where all the missing socks went. Either way, I'm unforgettable.
Despite my rough beginning, I've never stopped loving people. I still hope my momma and siblings found safety and love too 💗
One thing my foster family will tell you is that my face gives away every thought I'm thinking.
🍪 Did I sneak an extra treat? My face says yes.
🛋️ Was I considering stealing your spot on the couch? Also yes.
🐿️ Am I currently arguing with a squirrel who doesn't even know we're in a disagreement? Absolutely.
My expressions tell on me every single time 😂
I spend my days investigating life's biggest mysteries:
🐿️ Why do squirrels run away if they clearly wanted my attention?
📬 Is the mail carrier delivering mail or launching a personal attack?
🐱 Why does the cat get promoted to management while I remain an unpaid intern?
💖 How many belly rubs is too many belly rubs?
(Research is ongoing.)
I'm around 1 year old, a Lab mix, and about 45 pounds of love, wiggles, zoomies, cuddles, and questionable facial expressions. I'm potty trained, have wonderful manners, love other dogs, enjoy squeaky toys, and can switch from full-speed chaos gremlin to professional couch potato in under thirty seconds.
If you already have another dog, even better! I LOVE having fur siblings. In fact, my best friend is Stella "Freedom" and we spend our days creating just enough trouble to keep life interesting.
My foster family says I'm the perfect mix of silly, sweet, playful, and cuddly. What I want most is a family of my own—a family who sees my crooked smile and realizes it's attached to the biggest heart.
I promise to be your sidekick, your couch buddy, your adventure partner, and your personal comedian. Life is too short for boring dogs, and I am definitely not boring. 🐾💕

Don’t forget, I am meant to be a part of your family! Not a guard dog or outside pet. I also require a secured fenced in yard for potty and playtime. After all there are way too many loose doggies roaming the streets, and I need a responsible family who wants me safe and gives me a life full of unconditional love 💕🙏🐾

🇺🇸 STELLA "FREEDOM" HAS BEEN WAITING SINCE THE 4TH OF JULY 2025... AND WE HAVE QUESTIONS. 🇺🇸
Like... actual questions.
Did she accidentally submit her adoption application under "perfect dog" and break the system? 🤔
Did someone forget to tell the world she exists? 😭
Is she secretly deleting applications because she loves her foster family and her bestie Ellie Mae "Snidely" too much? 😂🐾
Because honestly... HOW has this girl not found her forever family yet?!
Nearly a year ago, Stella was rescued and given a second chance at life. Since then, she has blossomed into one of the happiest, silliest, most lovable dogs we've ever met.
This girl wakes up every morning acting like it's the BEST DAY EVER.
Breakfast? BEST DAY EVER! 🎉
Going outside? BEST DAY EVER! 🎉
Seeing her people? BEST DAY EVER! 🎉
Finding a random leaf in the yard? BEST DAY EVER! 🎉
Stella doesn't simply wag her tail. She wiggles from her nose to her toes. Her entire body turns into a happy little noodle whenever she's excited, which is approximately 99% of the time 🥹
That's how she earned the nickname "Wiggy."
And trust us... once you meet her, you'll understand.

✨ Black Lab Mix
✨ 45ish Pounds
✨ House trained with ZERO accidents
✨ Loves children
✨ Loves people
✨ Loves other dogs
✨ Professional cuddler
✨ Peanut butter enthusiast
✨ Chew toy collector
✨ Certified goofball
✨ Olympic-level wiggle butt
She can be a little shy when meeting new dog friends, but give her a few minutes, and she's planning matching friendship bracelets and asking if everyone wants to play 😂🐕
Her foster family absolutely adores her, and she has become best friends with Ellie Mae "Snidely." The two of them spend their days playing, wrestling, zooming around the yard, and getting into harmless dog shenanigans together.
But Stella's journey hasn't always been easy. Before rescue, she was surviving on her own dumped in the middle of nowhere. Then she fought through a horrific case of Parvo. While many dogs don't survive that battle, Stella did.
And somehow, through everything she has endured, she never lost her joy.
🐶 She never stopped smiling.
🐾 She never stopped loving.
🐕 She never stopped believing her family was out there somewhere.
💔 Nearly a year later, she's still waiting.
⭐️Not because there's anything wrong with her.
🚫 Not because she isn't deserving.
‼️Simply because the right family hasn't found her yet.
But when they do?
Their lives will never be the same. Because Stella isn't just a dog.
☀️ She's sunshine.
🐶 She's laughter.
💨 She's zoomies.
🪱 She's wiggles.
💗 She's the friend who makes every bad day a little better.
And she is so incredibly ready to be someone's whole world. ❤️
Let's make this the summer Stella finally gets her happy ending.

🚨🙏 $5 FRIDAY PAWS4CHRIST ANIMAL RESCUE 🙏🚨
Today, we are asking for help from the bottom of our hearts. Paws4Christ Animal Rescue is caring for over sixty dogs and puppies, a horse and many cats and kittens who depend on us every single day for food, shelter, medical care, love, and safety. While many people see the happy adoption photos, what they don’t always see are the countless animals still waiting behind the scenes, relying on us to make it through another week.
Every day our phones ring. Every day the messages come in.
“Can you take this dog?”
“My neighbor moved and left their dog behind.”
“I found puppies on the side of the road.”
“We can’t afford dog food.”
“They have nowhere to go.”
“They’re going to be euthanized.”
We read every message. We cry over many of them. We carry the weight of every animal we cannot save because there simply isn’t enough room, enough funds, enough fosters, or enough hours in the day.
People often ask why we’re so tired.
It’s because rescue never sleeps.
It’s the senior dog nobody wants.
It’s the puppy fighting to survive.
It’s the heartworm-positive dog that still deserves a chance.
It’s the abandoned dog sitting alone wondering why their family never came back.
It’s the foster who is running low on food.
It’s the emergency vet bill that wasn’t planned.
It’s looking into innocent eyes that trust you completely and knowing they have nowhere else to go.
The truth is that we are a very small group of volunteers carrying a very large amount. We aren’t a large organization with endless resources. We are ordinary people trying to do extraordinary things for animals that have been forgotten, abandoned, neglected, discarded, or left behind.
The good news is that we are averaging about one adoption each week steadily in a two month period. We are so grateful for every family who chooses rescue.
But while one dog finds a home, two or three more desperately need our help.
The math simply isn’t working.
Many of our dogs have been with us for months. Some have been waiting for years. Yet every single day they still need food, medical care, preventatives, cleaning supplies, and a safe place to call home while they wait for someone to love them.
Today, we are asking for help because we truly need it. We are also looking for a washer and dryer; they can be used ones. We wash over eight loads of doggie blankets and bedding a day, and when it rains we wash twice the amount 🥺
One of our large TV’s went out in doggies playroom too. We are not asking for anything new, if someone has a spare one they are no longer using, the doggies love the background noise, especially during bad weather and some seriously watch TV 😂
We are running dangerously low on dog food. Several foster homes need food replenished. We need cleaning supplies, mosquito repellent for our play yards, laundry supplies, and help with ongoing veterinary expenses.
As much as we hate asking, we cannot save lives without support 💔
If every person reading this donated just $5, it would make an incredible difference.
Just $5.
Less than a coffee.
Less than a fast-food meal.
But when hundreds of people come together, it becomes food for hungry dogs, vaccines for puppies, medical care for the sick, and hope for animals who have already lost everything.

Somewhere out there may be the person who can help us feed a hungry dog, cover a medical bill, or save a life.
Today, we are simply asking for help carrying this.
Because the dogs don’t know we’re struggling.
They only know they’re hungry.
They only know they’re safe.
And they are counting on us not to fail them.
Please help us make it through another week. 💔🐾

This picture says 1,000 words… look at this baby’s face 💔
He knows he’s safe now, but he’s still unsure of what’s happening around him. You can see it in his eyes… the heartbreak, the uncertainty. He knows he’s finally safe, but he doesn’t understand why the people he loved never came back for him.
His whole world was turned upside down when his family moved out of their home and left him behind. He was once an indoor family dog, and when they left, they chained him out on the porch with no shelter… He had endured three severe storms with no shelter at all, no way to get away 😡 He had to stay tied out in the severe weather 😭 but we got to him late lastnight before another storm hit 😣
Without help, he wouldn’t have stood a chance.
Can you imagine the confusion this baby felt?
Every car that passed… hoping it was them.
Every sound outside… thinking maybe they came back.
Every storm rolling in while he sat there alone wondering what he did wrong.
Dogs do not understand abandonment…NO MATTER WHAT THE CIRCUMSTANCES ARE!
They do not understand eviction, moving, financial hardship, medical emergencies, broken relationships; they only understand that the people they loved are suddenly gone.
And somehow… after all of that… he is still gentle. Still trusting. Still looking at humans with hope in his eyes 🥹
Thankfully, so many neighbors and members of our community stepped up. Erikka Martinez Benaway and others built him a makeshift shelter, stopped by multiple times a day to feed and water him, and checked on him constantly to make sure he was still okay, and for sharing his post, or we would have never known, and that baby would probably still be out there 🥺 (THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH 💗 🙌)
Victoria County Animal Services did go out, but due to protocols there was little they could immediately do. And this is the heartbreaking reality rescue groups face every single day, even knowing we have just as many as our local shelter! Dogs suffer while waiting on systems, policies, or resources… and rescues step in anyway because turning away feels impossible when a life is depending on you.
We are completely volunteer run, and rely solely on donations to continue saving lives. Even though we had no open space, one of our amazing fosters Kimberli Martinez messaged within 30 minutes of our post and offered him a temporary safe place while we search for a long-term foster or forever home. 🙏🐾
A HUGE thank you to Tracie Swanson, who went out almost at midnight before the storm hit to get him safely to his foster home. And thank you to the incredible foster family Kimberli Martinez who stepped up without hesitation.
Her words were:
“No worries at all. It takes a village for these dogs. We are that village.” 🫶🏼
🙏😭🙏😭🙏
And that is absolutely true. Without every single one of you, we could not do this rescue work. We are beyond grateful.
Please help us provide everything he needs as he starts over safely indoors:
🐾 Bedding & blankets
🐾 Food & supplies
🐾 Dewormer & preventatives
🐾 Vaccinations & vetting
🐾 Comfort items while he decompresses
We may never know everyone who played a part in helping him over the last few days, but if you stopped to feed him, water him, check on him, or cared about him in any way… thank you. Because of this community, he is now safe, warm, indoors, and sleeping comfortably tonight 🙌
If you are interested in fostering him, we are currently searching for a long-term foster-until-adopted home. So far he is doing okay with the foster’s dogs and children, but he is still decompressing and adjusting, so it will take time to learn more about his personality and needs.

🚨 VICTORIA, TEXAS / FORDTRAN AREA 🚨PLEASE HELP US FIND A SAFE OUTCOME FOR THIS DOG 💔
The day he showed up was February 26, 2026.
Does anyone recognize this dog?
No one ever had him scanned for a microchip, and after this recent situation VCAS picked him up yesterday. We were told he may only have days left. Without a committed foster or rescue placement, we cannot safely help him ourselves. If euthanasia becomes the outcome, we do not want him discarded without dignity — we would at least want him cremated. But more than anything, we want him safely out and given a real chance.
His name became “Yellow,” but he also answered to “Good Boy,” because that’s what he was called every day.
He showed up unexpectedly at the back of an elderly couple’s home while they were sitting on the porch. He appeared hungry and thirsty, but not severely thin. He immediately bonded with them, and they believed he may have belonged somewhere nearby in the Fordtran area.
Over the past few months, they worked with him daily and taught him several commands including; Sit, Wait, and Go to the garage.
He learned to play ball, loved attention, and constantly wanted affection. He was extremely intelligent, energetic, and eager to engage with people. He also displayed strong prey drive behaviors, chasing squirrels, opossums, birds, and vehicles. They described him as one of the fastest dogs they had ever seen.
He was still very much in a puppy stage emotionally and behaviorally. He chewed blankets, cardboard, pillows, and household items, and required structure, consistency, and training.
While he lived peacefully with their elderly dog and never harmed delivery drivers, he did show territorial and protective tendencies. On May 24, 2026, he bit a neighbor on the calf while she was leaving the property after visiting. He immediately backed off, and did not attempt to attack, but the bite caused puncture wounds and scratches. The owners immediately cleaned and assisted the neighbor.
The elderly couple believes he may have been attempting to protect them or reacting to unfamiliar stimuli, but because of their age and physical limitations, they no longer felt capable of safely training and managing him.
Their hearts are absolutely broken over this.
They truly believe he is trainable and could thrive with an experienced handler, structured environment, and proper behavioral work. They described him as highly intelligent, loyal, eager to learn, and potentially an excellent watchdog or companion in the right setting.
They surrendered him to Victoria County Animal Services because they felt they had no safe alternative.
Yes, he should have been put up while visitors were over especially showing signs of territorial behaviors. I couldn’t promise you that one of my personal doggies wouldn’t do the same that is protective; so we always put them up to be safe especially if they are showing any kind of reaction to people that come over.
If anyone recognizes him, knows where he came from, or is affiliated with a rescue that has space, is experienced in behavioral dogs, please reach out immediately. Time is critical, he will be euthanized 💔🐾

🚨 VICTORIA, TEXAS 🚨
THIS BABY NEEDS A PLAN NOW 💔😭
This sweet baby has reportedly been left behind by his owners that moved since Friday night and is currently alone. Storms are expected to move in within the next hour🥺
Animal Control can not immediately intervene, a note was previously left on the door by VCAS but has been removed by someone. This makes it look like the owners possibly are still coming to check on him, or someone else removed it. They can not even potentially pick him up until the end of the week. Owners have told people nearby that they are NOT coming back for their dog. Time is critical and we are terrified this baby could end up in a difficult situation if help does not come quickly.
Please share, make calls, tag rescues, tag friends, and help us find a solution FAST. We cannot stand the thought of him sitting out there alone in the storms. 💔

Happy Birthday to my beautiful wife Ashley ❤️🎂🐾
Now y’all bear with me, this only took me three days to write, and because everyone knows I’m not exactly the Facebook expert in this family 😅 Google will teach you anything 🤷🏻♂️ I’m over here trying to make a post and praying I don’t accidentally go Live, change the profile picture, or somehow list our couch on Marketplace 😂
Today is my wife Ashley’s birthday, and if you know her, then you know she would never want today to be about herself. She’d make it about everyone else — the dogs, the rescue, volunteers, families, people in need, and anyone who’s hurting. That’s just who she is.
As the Founder of Paws4Christ Animal Rescue, Ashley has poured her heart into saving lives for almost four years now. We rescue, rehabilitate, and help animals in crisis from abuse, abandonment, neglect, rehoming situations, and shelters all across Texas. By taking so many animals off the streets of Victoria and surrounding areas, it helps keep them from ending up in our already overcrowded shelter system where many are at risk simply because there’s no room.
But I want everyone to know something today… this woman does so much more than save animals, she goes above and beyond…
I can’t tell y’all how many rescue missions I’ve been on with Ashley. I also can’t tell y’all how many times I’ve said, “Babe… I really don’t think you’re gonna fit down in there…” and somehow she disappears and comes back out holding puppies 😂
Other times she has had me tie a rope to her ankle to pull her out of shallow spaces or culverts that she knew she couldn’t back out of with puppies 🤣
We go to save one animal and somehow come home with five or more… I always tell her there is room for one more 👀
And if you’ve ever been on a rescue mission with Ashley, then you know things can get real unpredictable, and fast 😅
I’ve witnessed her walk toward dogs that looked highly aggressive with nothing but a catch lead and baby talk while I’m standing back shaking my head thinking, “Yep… this is it. I’m about to have to dial 911 because this woman is fixing to get attacked.” 😂
Meanwhile she’s over there saying, “It’s okay baby… you’re okay…” and somehow getting closer instead of farther away.
I’ve watched her several times get a lead on a dog and then get dragged all over the place because that dog had other plans 😅 But she hangs on, keeps talking to them, keeps loving on them, and somehow calms them down enough for them to realize they’re safe.
I truly don’t know how she does it.
She’s one of a kind… maybe a little crazy 😂 but she definitely keeps life interesting.
Middle of the night rescues… dangerous weather… long drives… places I wish she never had to walk into. Sometimes I’ve even found out after the fact she went somewhere alone and I’m over here having a heart attack.
And what makes all of this even inspiring is rescue isn’t even Ashley’s full-time job. She has a career outside of rescue that she manages every day, on top of being a wife, mother, handling family responsibilities, everyday life, and somehow keeping everything running.
And through the years she’s faced more challenges medically than many people even know about. There have been seasons that would’ve made most people slow down, step back, or throw their hands up and say, “I can’t do this anymore.”
But not her.
I honestly don’t even know how she keeps going sometimes. Yet somehow she still wakes up every day and continues loving people, saving animals, helping others, putting everyone before herself, and showing up even when she’s tired.
She is fearless when it comes to helping others.
She doesn’t quit.
She doesn’t give up.
She fights for lives everyone else has forgotten.
But what amazes me most is it isn’t just animals she helps.
I’ve watched her help people too — homeless individuals, families struggling, and anyone who simply needed someone to care. She gives food, supplies, encouragement, prayer, and love. I’ve watched people turn their lives around because someone finally believed in them.
And if I’m being real, this woman absolutely deserves a spa day, a massage, and something special where she can just relax and be taken care of for once 😅 But if you know Ashley, you know she’d rather spend her free time out rescuing animals and put any extra money toward helping one more dog in need.
That’s just her heart.
We’ve had a lot to celebrate these past few days too ❤️
Our kiddo’s graduation over the weekend 🎓
Today is Memorial Day — and a heartfelt thank you to all of those who have served and sacrificed for our country 🇺🇸🙏
And now wish me luck because I’m fixing to make a 3½-hour trip today with Ruby so she can meet her potential forever family 🙌🐾 That is 7 hours of drive time 🥹
Because if there’s one thing I’ve learned being married to Ashley 21 years, and always being an animal lover; it’s that rescue never really takes a day off 😂 Even birthdays somehow turn into saving lives.
And truthfully, I don’t think she’d want it any other way.
The Bible says in Proverbs 31:29:
“Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.”
And babe… that’s you.
You are the love of my life, my best friend, the mother of our children, my rescue partner, and the biggest blessing God ever gave me. You somehow hold everything together with grace, faith, and love even on the days I know you’re completely exhausted.
So for her birthday today, we’re asking if you’d help celebrate her in the way I know would mean the most to her — by donating towards Paws4Christ Animal Rescue to continue saving lives.

Thank you all so much for letting us borrow window units, donating towards getting a few smaller window units and for the amazing angel who is covering the new unit and repairs needed to have the central air and heat working again soon 😭🙏🐾 We are forever grateful 🙌 Odin is doing much better, him and Jack were having the most difficulties because the anxiety of everything 💔
🚨🐾 EMERGENCY HELP NEEDED FOR OUR RESCUE BABIES 🐾🚨
Paws4Christ Animal Rescue is currently facing an unexpected crisis. Our central AC unit has gone out and the parts needed to repair it had to be specially ordered through Carrier, leaving us without air conditioning while we wait for repairs next week 😞
We thought it would be a simple fix, but it’s not 😭 and is very costly 💔 Estimated costs to replace $1,200 😣
Today alone we have relied on fans, extra outdoor water playtime, and every possible way to help keep our babies cool, but this Texas heat is unbearable. We have far too many senior doggies, puppies, and heartworm-positive rescues who simply cannot handle these temperatures safely 💔
Right now, we urgently need to purchase several window AC units to keep everyone cool and safe until the central unit can be repaired correctly. Every single dollar donated goes directly toward helping us protect these precious lives from the dangerous summer heat.
We are humbly asking if you can help in any way, no amount is too small. Even sharing this post could help🙏🐾
