Where God and family comes first, then great Simmental cattle are bred and sold!

Been awhile since we posted an update. Things are bumping right along on the farm. We started weaning our October calves. Grass looks good, we are trying to get a dry window to cut for hay. God is good!

Grass is good... except to much Kentucky blue in this field. Weaned our September calves a few weeks ago, so cows look pretty good condition wise.

Make sure to check out our consigned lots to the Missouri Simmental Association State Sale, Online, on April 7th!

We hand-picked two fall-bred heifers, both backed by generations of AI- and embryo-sired females, and out of past show heifers the kids exhibited.

Both of these outstanding females are AI bred to KBHR Revolution, setting them up for an early September calf. They were halter broke as calves, so they could easily be shown again if a junior purchases one for the Heifer Extravaganza!

These are genetics that are hard to let go of. Both of their dams are over 8 years old and still going strong in production on our farm—the kind of longevity and consistency we strive for in our herd.

Be sure to check out each photo to see the individual pedigrees and genetics! Link to the sale will be posted when it is UP!

Once again, we have been asked to consign a select group of females to the Sloup Customer Appreciation Online Sale, and we truly feel this is a set we can be proud of. We are offering three high-quality females that required some serious digging on our part.

Leading off the group is a red purebred cow–calf pair, with the strong possibility of being a 3-in-1, as she was AI’d just yesterday.

We also went into our fall-calving heifer group, which was not originally the plan. We had retained ten heifers as replacements and had every intention of keeping them, but after some convincing from Nick Sloup, we selected two of the very top heifers from that group to offer in this sale.

Be sure to read the footnotes for detailed information on each female.

The sale is now posted, with bidding opening February 2 and closing February 3. Don’t miss the opportunity—there is an outstanding set of cattle consigned throughout this sale.

The oldest bovine (Bling, 07 so will be 19 in a month) and the oldest human at Fire Sweep (Glenn, not telling his age, but he's older than me!) stood for a pose this morning, with Glenn in his Christmas jammies. Bling was treated with a pedicure for Christmas, since her toes were getting a little long over the last 15 years. Yes, she is bred (due in May). And our first BAS Money Maker calf hit the ground in time for Christmas! Just a little too much white for us! 🎅
Merry Christmas to all our friends, business partners, and customers. Blessings to everyone in 2026!
