Be sure to do the stingray shuffle! It is mating season and they love the warm coastal shallow water. The Atlantic and Southern stingray hide in the sand, unlike the Cownose stingray which are pelagic and travel in large groups called a fever. Stingrays only use these barbs in self-defense. You can avoid accidentally stepping on them by using the “stingray shuffle”—dragging or shuffling your feet through the sand instead of picking them up as you walk, which causes the rays to safely swim away. Stingrays do not want to hurt you, they are protecting themselves. “Do the stingray shuffle!”

As most of you know. I’ve relocated to Florida!!! After selling Soundside Tours in Emerald Isle, I’ve started a new charter business in Florida!! We are so excited to announce Chubby Mermaid Charters. We will be operating out of two locations. Port Canaveral with Dolphin, manatee and sea turtle watching, viewing cruise ships docked, submarines at the base, and the occasional SPACEX launch. We will offer night runs to see the bioluminescence and sunset cruises. Second location is Sebastian Inlet and the dolphin and manatee that frequent there. We have our new page up. Give us a follow.
