It's been busy at Joe-Rassic Park
We've had several surrenders including 11 snakes at once!!

Most are underfed but generally healthy. However, one was tragically ill so we rushed it to PGA Animal Clinic, P.A. where he succumbed to his illness overnight. 😢

Rescue work carries both joy and heartbreak. We have to remember that we can’t save them all, and still hold onto the good we do for the many who get a second chance because of compassion and community. Thank you for standing with us.

We're getting ready for and hoping to raise some much-needed funds to help our critters through the winter months! We've had a surge in surrenders as well and need new enclosures to give them the best chance at finding their forever homes. Every donation, big or small, counts! Friends of Joe-Rassic Park,
Our beloved sailfin dragon, Kilo, developed an infection on his toe. To stop it from spreading up his leg, he needed urgent surgery. Thanks to our amazing vet team at PGA Animal Clinic and the amazing Dr. Gillan, they were able to perform a necessary amputation to preserve his foot and save his life — but the costs are significant.

This gentle giant has been part of our reptile rescue family for years—helping teach children, inspiring visitors, and showing everyone how incredible reptiles can be.

Surgery and aftercare are costly, and every dollar helps cover the bills and ongoing care. If you’ve ever loved meeting our animals or believe in what we do, please consider donating—no amount is too small.

Our dynamic rhino iguana duo, Bodhi & Tara, just became egg-cellent parents!

After some cozy bonding time and a whole lotta leafy greens, Tara laid a gorgeous clutch of eggs. 🥹💚

And the best part? The picture of the proud (of themselves) parents. ❤️

Send good vibes to these scaly sweethearts—and maybe, just maybe, we’ll have some tiny tail wigglers soon! 🐣✨

💔 Remembering Mikayla Raines of Saveafox Corporation

We at Joe-Rassic Park are heartbroken to learn of the passing of Mikayla Raines, founder of Save a Fox. Mikayla died by su***de on June 22 at just 29 years old. Her husband has shared that she had long struggled with depression and was recently targeted by sustained online bullying that became too much.

We didn’t know Mikayla well, but we had the privilege of meeting her at AnimalCon 2024, where she spoke on panels with grace, insight, and deep passion. Her love for animals—and her commitment to their care—was undeniable.

Mikayla dedicated her life to rescuing foxes from fur farms and pet surrenders, building Save a Fox into the largest fox rescue in the U.S. She inspired millions, and her loss is deeply felt across the animal rescue community.

🧡 Let this be a reminder: even the strongest, kindest, most inspiring people can be carrying pain we cannot see.
